IMPORTANT: Make sure CAPS LOCK is not on while playing this game, otherwise some buttons won't work. It's a flaw in the code, sorry about that...

The Rise of a KING takes a turn to the role playing genre, but still retains the action from its predecessor. If you havent played The Rise of a Knight, then there is a "Story so Far" section where you can watch a slideshow of what happened in the first game.

Explore the world in and around Stormguard Castle as you start off on your first day as a Knight. Times are getting dark with the current king and many others behaving strangely while more and more dangerous creatures appear, causing trouble all over the kingdom. You seem to be the only one to see the obvious corruption, and its up to you to dissolve this matter...

EDIT: For some reason the link to play The Rise of a Knight doesnt work in the game. I have no idea why, because it works on www.ArmorGames.com. If you want to play the first installment of this 2-part series, then just go to my profile here on Newgrounds, or choose The Rise of a Knight from the drop-down menu on this page.

NOTICE: Anyone is free to make videos of my games. Sharing video game experiences with others is really nice. It gives me some exposure while the people who make the videos get something back in return. I fully support the monetisation of any video you make containing footage from my games. As long as you don’t claim to be the creator of my games, it’s all good! Throwing my name, SeethingSwarm, as the creator into the description or into the video itself is also always appreciated.

Haven't I seen this here before? O.o

Anyway, I rated it a 5/5 because it's one of the better games I've seen these past 2 months ;D.

I haven't gotten very far yet, but I'll be back :0

Good, but one major bug REALLY pushed it down.

The very first enemies, the assassins, they can hit faster then you can run, or attack. If I was hit one time, it was basically over. I couldn't run, I couldn't defend, I couldn't attack, nothing. Please fix this bug, and then I'll give you a higher score.

SeethingSwarm responds:

They dont really attack faster than you. If you are too slow to push them back before they get to you, then you can always use magic to get rid of them, or just use your shield. This game is not really very tactical, but maybe a bit more than you think. And you gotta give the bad guys a chance to win every now and then. You really think that this "bug" brings my game down to only a 4? Well thanks for the review anyway, I'll definitely keep your comments in consideration for my next project. I've never been too good with doing combat...

ehhh...

The first thing I noticed was that the guy gets around too slow. I wasted 5 minutes finding the king and then finally starting. Just let me get to the killing!
And when I got to the fighting, it sucked. It was just hold the attack button while jumping around. Wheres the skill?

Needs a better system for getting around, and a better fighting system.

SeethingSwarm responds:

Yeah maybe you're right. I'm still learning though. Sorry you didnt have the patience for all the conversations in the game before you got to do some fighting. I realise that it can bore people, but do you really think I only deserve a 4 for all my efforts?
