Last episode's flashbacks aside, Crono and Lucca finally burst forth from the dungeon into the castle proper! However, this part of the rescue plan that Marle and Lucca have concocted isn't going entirely as they originally envisioned it. Chiefly speaking, where's Marle? During all of this there is nothing left for the guards they left behind in the dungeon to do now but to D-D-DUEL!!!
INSTRUCTIONS:
The space bar, as well as the arrow button, is used to advance conversations. When the secret scene is unlocked you select it from the scene selection menu to play it. Restarting the movie by right clicking relocks the secret scene. You can now skip Gaspar's narration if you select the first scene from the scene menu.
OTHER NEWS:
Yay, Cryo's around these days. In even better news, Cryo's been around semi-consistantly for a while now. Let's hope he all stays that way because that's where he belongs (in the Ultra Publications family!). I hope you all enjoy this episode. Depite the fact it's much shorter than episode 16, certain parts of it took disproportionately long to make (I think you'll know which parts when you see them). The script for Episode 18 is already written, and Cryo and I will soon be discussing the plans for writing the script to Episode 19, so the series is good for a while still should Cryo magically dissapear in a month or two. I really hope to have the next episode out before the end of this year, but we'll see what happens as I start my new job at *SIGH* Wal-Mart tomorrow (I can't believe I got a degree in College for this, but without any job experience on my resume it's all I can do).
As for what Gaspar says in the opening, it's for real. We're not going to be seeing him for a while. There are reasons why this done was done, but to make a long story short a lot of things just didn't go as planned. Don't worry, Gaspar will probably be back some day (and I don't just mean in the story when they finally get to the end of time). Anyways, for those of you who are interested in have Dan Scannel - the voice of Gaspar - do voice work for your flash projects, you can contact him on AIM at mystik3eb (or at the Ultra Publications forum).

Vastly overlooked
I totally agree with Ericho (2 reviews down) about the "high ratings/low views" thing. CTU is one of my favorite NG series, and it boggles the mind that the exposure is so low. You really need to do more advertising! Each episode is (almost) literally better than the last, and I love the running gags and characters that you've developed. In my mind, this isn't the SMBZ of CT, though - it's more to me like Awesome Trigger, y'know? It's funnier than SMBZ and the characters have their own personalities, whereas SMBZ primarily sticks to action and the characters remain true to their original personalities. So yeah, you are the Egoraptor of Chrono Trigger. LOVE love the series, always can't wait for the next episode.

Phoenix Wright Really?
that's the song for HoG, and you didn't even put an "OBJECTION!" in there, but it was kinda funny, and i still love the series
Glad to hear you liked it. We're going to save our option to do a Phoenix Wright parody for when the King goes on trial (unfortunately PW hadn't released yet when Crono's trial happened).

Vast!
It takes awhile for the action to get going, but it is worth the wait! I especially love the little card game thing you have in the middle of it as it is just so fun. It was interesting to hear the guy at the beginning because most people probably have not seen the other entries. The graphics in this are really good and it is nice to add in some humor. This is pretty much the "Super Mario Bros. Z" of "Chrono Trigger". Sure, it does not have the most views, but at least it does well with the ratings.
This review contains quite possibly the nicest thing anyone has ever said about Chrono Trigger Unglued, it is an unbelievably immense honor to have my adopted work mentioned in the same sentence as Super Mario Bros Z.

Get carded.
So, we're in agreement, then. Guardia Castle in its entirety is an unstable recursive time-space field of indefinite proportions which - in all likelyhood - is Lavos' fault. Yes? Alright. Good.
Now then...what's with all the dang-blasted cards?! I'm half-expecting there to be entries from the future that the card-playing guards can't even know about yet. Also, I like that there's a code for Chancellors stuck in a treasure chest. That is just awesome.
Actually, the real culprit responsible for the castle's time-warping nature is explained in the secret scene to Episode 21. As for the cards, we tried to have a contest where people could sibmit their own cards to appear in the episode. Ultimately, we had to reject all of the submissions made precisely because they referenced stuff that the guards shouldn't know about yet. Maintaining an internal consistancy to the story is important for us.
