This didn't end up quite as fancy or complicated as I'd hoped, but it's my first dress-up. I'm planning a few more soon enough.

i've gotta say...

good job! even though its a first time dress-up, its still pretty nice. if u make another, plz include more clothes :D

Not very fresh...

There are so many out there. Gotta' give you credit for putting it out there. It works like it is suppose to. Good Luck on your next assignment.....vp

Sheesh

It's the artist's first dress-up, and you're already comparing it to "Dress My Babe 6"? Damn, go easy on him/her.

Actually, The guy below gave some good tips. Drop/drop dress up is entertaining, but using single articles of clothing with a color selector for whatever clothes are currently selected helps cut down on the catalog of clothes in the wardrobe, letting you put more/different designs. Some dress-up artists like to use the copy/paste idea to just replicate the same clothes over and over, re-color them, and call it a dress up. It looks a bit lazy from the consumer's perspective (like how old-school games would just re-color the same enemy sprites over and over to make it easy on themselves.)

He gave some good pointers, but for a first dress-up flash, this isn't bad at all. The art is decent, and I didn't see anything wrong with how you implemented the drag/drop User Interface. Good job!

One thing I will mention is "thank you" for not making it where you can take all of her hair off, like a wig. Dress-up games that let you swap their entire head of hair out, showing some bald head underneath just give me the creeps.

A lot of standart dress up problems.

It's good for the first attempt, but other than that it's pretty average dress up game.
Not terribly awful, not terribly good.

Several recommendations (for future).
1) It is much better when clothes snap to the model, so you won't have position them precisely yourself. I never liked dragging clothes with mouse, because unused clothes clutter game window, and because sometimes fitting model can be problematic. Ideal way to put clothes is to to click/or double click them in catalog so they'll immediately appear on model, and replace existing clothes from same category. Ideal way to remove them is to click them when they are on model. This is common problem of most dressups, and it really will be great if you'd avoid it. Another good thing is that with snapping mechanism you can animate characters (if you feel up to it)
2) It isn't good that you can put several shirts/pants/etc at once, but it is related to the lack of catalog and snapping.
3) It would be far better if instead of placing many differently colored copies of same skirt(or any other clothing) you made single model of skirt with option to select color for it.
4) It would be nice if you implemented some kind of clothes catalog, preferably in floating/popup/pulldown windows. This way you'll be able to make bigger character and avoid clutter. The clothes ideally should be stored in categories, and it shouldn't be possible to place several clothes of same category (shirt, boots, etc.) at once.
5) It would be nice to have ability to change character settings, like skin color, eyes, etc. Or have different characters.
6) Take a look at "dress my babe 6". So far it's the best dress-up game I saw, so it really should give you some inspiration and idea how things might be done.

Meh

It's a pretty average dress up game
