Construct a massive army of Middle Earth-inspired units, build up your base defenses, and take control of your trusty crossbow to fend off an onslaught of enemy orcs, goblins and dragons.

Update: Thanks for putting it to frontpage
Tips beating The End:
Mastered all you skills. When The End appear, cast angel together with hobbits and elfs .
While The End attack your army, it is your chance to attack him. Hold a,s,d,f.

updates
- crossbow position changed so reduce accidentally damage to player big units.
- add mouse scroll control for crossbow movement ( up down ) >> just play it in pop up so mouse scroll control can work

awesome X) but you should add a line thing for te bow cuz its kind of hard to see where ur gonna aim (srry never played bowmasters tho)

Obviously a lot of the features in this have been polished/removed in later games, so this isn't really a critique as much as it is telling new players what to expect lol.
Pros:
-It's the beginning of a fantastic Real-Time strategy game, with all the core features that make the later installments memorable. If you're familiar with later EW games it's just generally interesting to revisit this and see how the games have changed over time.
-You can see the beginnings of multiple unit designs in this game: My favorite example being the blue dragon in this game evolving into the black dragon in EW2, to the blue dragon (again lol) in EW3, and back to black in EW4 and 5.
-The scoring system can keep you playing for a while if you like to grind, but is otherwise skippable if that isn't your playstyle.
-Bit of a weird compliment, but the unit deaths are unique. It isn't just "Raaaaugh I fell over and now my blood is all over the ground" all the time, a lot of the units have weirdly captivating death animations that can take you by surprise or just let you appreciate the art.

Cons:
-You REALLY rely on the crossbow in this one, as much as EW2. It's a pain to hold down the A key (and S, D, and F for elemental arrows) for so long, and it doesn't help that friendly fire is here too: you have to time your firing so that you don't accidentally kill your teeny units, or give statuses to your big ones.
-The "Perfect Score" really just makes you drag the battle on, and doesn't have any rewards to go along with it. If you already have your skill tree fully upgraded then it's pretty pointless to try and get it, unless you've already beaten the game and just want to see how high your score can go.

Its a decent for its time, but what bothered me was how you had to drag out battles to reach the perfect score, which gives you more XP.

more that a decade and im still playing this game.
I love it. :D

Meh.
