Just like the last three years, I have submitted a silly flash starring some battle with Mario and Sonic. However, it ends here!

Happy Clock Day everyone! :D

"Nice."

Animation/Graphics - Great animation for a clock day submission if I may say so myself. The sprites were perfectly fine and I actually really enjoy watching sprites. There was nothing wrong with the animation or drawing and everything ran smoothly.

Story - I won't get to watching the other ones, but just by watching this one I'm sure I can imagine what they are about. :) A great clock day submission and too bad this one is the grand finale. You sure you won't get up to making another one for next year?

Audio - The audio you chose for the flash was perfect. When the battle started and the song picked up at the same time was really timed well and gave the movie a great effect. Good job.

Overall, a good Clock Day submission. Too bad we won't be seeing more of the series. Have more plans for next clock day?

Well, I didn't do much drawing here. XP

I don't know about next Clock Day. Maybe Clock Day 2010 I'll have something. XD

"Clockday"

date: August 28, 2008

I remember seeing this under judgement on Clockday, shame it did not get an award its ace.

Graphics. 9/10 The spirtes looked wondderful ,what i liked was how each passing year. The graphics got better more bigger ,and detailed. Sonic was a classic look and of course Mario. Lovely bright colors the sprites over the backgrounds, worked a treat and the whole movie. A real visual eye feast.

Sound.10/10 I love the music George Michael, thats what you call sound. The spinning around made me laugh, at it matched the song. Nice to hear it over the movie.

I saw this on Clockday ,and loved it right away. I think its witty and clever, and the movie really good. Ive not seen the, others but this is a treat. The way it goes over three years ,and finally ends shame. Stil cant go on for ever can they? The Sonic spinning and Mario contest, is funny the way they sit there. Sonic must be so dizzy one of your best movies ,this is funny and got great appeal. Sonic always cool.

Only thing the ending was a bit of a letd down, no real big surpise and the title odd.

Overeall a great movie.

The epic battle had to end eventually since I was running out of ideas for this little series and next Clock Day, I might still be working on my 100th flash. :S

Thanks for the review phantomlassuk.

"The epic battle is finally over!"

date: August 26, 2008

I'm surprised that both Mario and Sonic had managed to survive without food, drink and sleep for three years whilst they were battling. A wonderful ending to a marvellous battle. I wouldn't have had it any other way! What was that exploding guy supposed to be though?

Lots of love, Rebecca Rose.

"Meta-humour"

by: Bezman
date: August 25, 2008

This and A_S's work both work on the same kinda level. It's not that anything particularly funny happens here, or in his neverending-yet-curtailed series, more that it's just funny that they even exist.

What kind of person would make a daily-updated series with 300 episodes with such minimalist elements. What kind of person would make a regularly-updated series that updates in intervals of 1 year (and manages to stick to that schedule and bring the series to a conclusion)? You two.

That's just crazy and the concept itself makes me laugh.

'Spinning the wheel'? Apt name. I wouldn't have thought you'd be a George Michael fan. That was aa cool song though - hadn't heard it before.

The series ended in probably the best way it could. Simple, minimal and conclusive.

I rewatched episode 3 before this and really got a lot out of it but can't imagine anyone who wasn't along for the ride previously enjoying it.

Well, consider this 9 more for the overall 'meta-humour' of the series rather than this particular episde in itself.

You and A_S may be pioneers! Though I'm sure there are examples, I can't think of other examples of meta humour. Maybe I should go into an open mic night and just feign death? Or maybe that'd be dickish and boring/annoying rather than funny. Hrm.

Author's Response:

Actually, Afro_Stud suggested Spinning the Wheel song to be put on this flash. I didn't have much other song ideas, so I gave that song a try and thought it would work out. I'm not a George Michael fan, but his songs are ok.

Thank you very much for those comments Bezman. :)
