When I first saw this title I thought it's about Half-life (As in half life blue shift :P) Then I found a shoot. I am not that disappointed caz I like shooters. Then I found out it's really cool :D This game even tho being a classic scroll have its unique points. Such as the shield system and the Mario like delay motion control. First I really hate the delay motion control caz it messes up my dodging. Making my ship really clumsy and something run into other ships. But once I got a hang of this it's not that big of a problem, especially since there is shield function which I have learnt to use extensively. It's really useful.
I also want to comment you on the range of interesting weapons, some are repetitive such as the gauss gun and the machine gun. But I found a lot of interesting ones as well. Noticeably the lighting cannon and to be the funnest. Melee saw. It's very interesting to add a melee weapon into this kind of game, it really challenges player to use shield function correctly. I leveled it to three and it;s really funny to slice enemies up close . All in all good job on this game :D
I still have a few advices if you wish to hear:
1.the motion delay thing is a good try, but hard to get use to, I think you should still think about delect that.
2.Some weapons have similar functions and should get rid of. Such as I mentioned before, the gauss cannon and the machine gun.
