"Expecting Something Completely Different"
date: July 9, 2009
To be honest, I was expecting an actual game to be done of the series which would have been cool and all, but since it wasn't, and it was a character creation style game...I'll review this.
Actionscripting: It's good for a Character Creation styled game...seems kind of basic if you ask me, but there is some flaws to that.
When you click on the background afterwords after you have made your character...it sets everyone including that character as a zombie-like creation that is portrayed in the actual flash videos...that's a no-no right there and should be fixed in some sort of way so people don't have to redo their character again by refreshing or clicking back and all.
The User Interface (UI): Once more, basic...not too flashy but it was kind of bland to be honest...all it really was when you made your character was that part flashing which quite frankly quite annoying after quite sometime after looking at it.
The back and forward menu attracted my attention which was a good thing I guess, but it was just a simple button/graphic.
Artistry (Artwork): Some of it looked like it was completely traced and some of it looked hand drawn. When it comes to tributes, try to use more of your own work than the person who are making a tribute to so you don't have to worry about copyright claims and all that good stuff.
The backdrops looked like they were completely ripped from the flash animations themselves to an extent or at least traced.
Animation: There was none...except for the occasional transition to another 'slide'
To be honest, I didn't really like it but I'm not going to hold that against you on this one since I'm not that kind of person to go "It sucks...0/10", so I'm giving it a 6/10 for it being some original for the Castle series and all.
