** Patch 2.3 - Really just bug fixes and general tuning. Nothing of specific note. (Patch 2.2 was made for Kongregate and therefor did not apply to NG).

** Patch 2.1 - Patch Notes can be found on my Userpage if you want the details of what was added and changed.

A note that the old game had that I left out here - This game is kinda hard on the framerate (my fault), especially when things are hectic onscreen. There is an FPS counter that you can turn on in the Options menu. If everything seems to be moving slow, check it. The game SHOULD be hovering around 30 frames a second. If you're dipping significantly or constantly, there are a couple things you can do: If it's mostly a problem when tons of things are happening onscreen all at once, you can turn down the Spawn Limit in the options menu. This will put a soft limit on the number of enemies on screen at once, and potentially help keep the game from bogging down to far. You can also (obviously) turn down the Quality a notch, as I've found this helps a lot. Just fiddle with things until you get the game running where you are comfortable with it.

Another note - If the sense of mystery and randomness is not your thing, and you want some guidance as to how to do and see everything (and advice on which Rewards to pick, to boot!) OmegaMario has composed a Guide for players based on his playing of the game. Keep in mind that this is full of **SPOILERS** (that's sorta the point, really) and I was not involved in it's creation - everything here he discovered and composed on his own. Bravo, I say!

A brand new version of my previous game, Amorphous+ is a fast paced, hectic melee of multicolored blobs. Veterans of the older version will recognize the following new features:
*PAUSE* - omg, press spacebar
*Progress Saving* - Now with a sense of continuity and accomplishment!
*Awards* - Gain awards to mark your achievements as you play
*Rewards* - As you earn awards, you will unlock useful tools and abilities to help you survive
along with a number of little tweaks and additions.

The music is Still all by Revolution Void - which you can disable in the Options menu - but you shouldn't, because they're awesome.

Hope you enjoy it!

ProTip: You can just click through all the intro crap at the beginning to get to the game. You're welcome.

Various Comments

I think it's a good sign of your game's addictiveness that I had trouble earning the absentee award. I told myself I'd play 2 minutes (my reasoning for why to do this is questionable) before pausing. I did end up earning that award, a day after first planning to do so.

I found some of the reward comments rather humorous. When I decided to earn the armor piercing award, the comment in that award was far too true. The same goes for the awesome combo award.

I have a mouse, but I tend to play this game using a touchpad. It's really not that bad. Now, a trackpoint would be just plain awful.

Thanks for your comments, I'm glad you enjoyed the Awards. They reflect my inner snarkiness. Also my outer snarkiness.

I don't know what it is by touchpads and I don't get along. And trackballs, don't get me started. I somehow become an idiot the moment I even enter the same room as a trackball. Their use eludes me on some primal level.

Thank you again for the comments!

Two little details (but only one complaint)

First of all, I both love and hate this game. While it's a great little slash & kill game with enough depth to be really fun, it's also probably going to get me fired (been playing at work for two hours now.)

There are two little glitches that I've noticed. The only one I have a problem with is that when you splat a meltie it will occasionally splat towards you, leaving you standing in a pool of acid mid swing. This has happened to me several times, and man, is it annoying (I was 4 freaking blobs away from clearing the Big Nest!!!)

The other bug I've noticed is that right when you get bumped by one of the green guys you're immune to biters, horrors (or the four spinny discs, anyway), and fuzzles for a split second. They just pass right through you. But, seriously, feel free to leave that one in.

Hopefully you're still employed when you read this... if not... um... sorry!

The fact that you can potentially splash yourself with acid when splatting a Meltie is actually not a glitch... it's a Hazard. When splatting a Meltie try and make sure you're turned in such a way that the splat isn't going to splash in your direction. More play will get you used to doing this (although admittedly even *I* still do this on occasion).

The second is in fact a known issue that has not been corrected. This has to do with multiple-contact protection... and in all honesty is probably never going to be fixed. So enjoy it when it happens!

Thanks for the review, and Happy Splatting!

Genius

I thought this game was pretty great, then I was rewarded for my patience with the ability to wield two unockable specials at once. That was the moment I realised the game's author was an artist. Congratualations if you read this, you've made the best game I've pplayed on newgrounds for a long time.

This game is addictive and awesome

I haven't played the first game but who cares, this one is awesome. Whenever I play on a huge nest I always get swarmed by clutters and get covered in the little purple things, then one of those giant rolling rocks comes and kills me D:

Best game on the internet, perfected.

This is in my opinion the best flash game of all time. Even better now you changed the few flaws it had and added content. A masterpiece.
