I started out in East Europe being a Virus, I sold every symptom and unlocked Drug and Moisture Resistance II. 5 Miutes later half of the world was infected, and they didn't notice... YES, Madagascar got infected and every place in the world is infected, Kidney Failure is really useful :p, then when they noticed me I gave them diarrhea, and also heart failure... Greenland got wiped out in 5 minutes and every country is red!

Really fun overall, and PLZ don't wish this was real.

While everyone else is trying to take over madagascar, my disease started there, took quite a while for it to finally get another place xD

MADAGASCAR.

That one, small, scarcely populated, ecologically beautiful and unique shit on the map makes this game frustrating as hell. No matter how strategically I play and how many (good) tips by other players I follow, as soon as that goddam harbor shuts down, it becomes impossible to reach the games final goal. That is, in easy mode. The fact that this seems to be one of the most likely "reaction" events to be triggered doesnt help at all.

However, I can not be brought to hate this game. The premise is just too creative.

It is definitely flawed. The numbers of people living in the single countries are just unrealistic (I knew China was huge, but making it house five times the current world population is just laughable), some of the decimal calculations look just awkward (I dont think it would change the game if I had 296 Infections a day instead of 296.057683), and you dont generally feel like you have enough control over what happens in game.

Looking at this more than obvious problems, I have no Idea why I like this game so much. Maybe its the adorable little details. Giving the infection that is wiping out humanity an exaggeratedly sciency or ironic name ("Prolaptic gaseous endogastrial Pseudomycosis", or just "Disco fever"), seeing world governments panic in front of their populations sneezing their brains out through their nostrils or just enjoying the detailed descriptions of the horrible things your disease may do to the infected provide just sickening entertaining value.

If there should ever be a sequel (wich I highly doubt, considering how old this is), I would recommend hiring a good designer for the interface and work out some of the flaws, while keeping the basic concept unaltered. It may be unlikely, but I would love to see a fleshed out version of this game that sadly looks rushed and unfinished for having such a great premise.

Protip:
To maximize your gaming experience, play the OST of "Pandemic - American Swine" or something similar in the background. It fits the mood perfectly!
