EDIT- Woo! Daily first and frontpage, thank you everyone! For more info/thoughts on this go check out the new blog entry.

This is a commissioned piece I did for a band called Monarch. This is also from early 2008, which was my 'corporate whore-out' phase, in which I did a couple of commission pieces for music that... er... I like less and less as time goes on. The views expressed by the music don't reflect those of the animator, who was just trying to do something visually interesting and earn some money/exposure.

A big thanks to Tom and NewGrounds for hosting this! (Sorry to everyone else about the huge file size)

Stay tuned in a couple of months for the next installment of SuperVillain!

Ah, Supervillain man...

Nice to see you at it again. This is good work, seriously. Music good, animation style excellent, and it's pretty damn meaningful. IIt says...dare to be different. I like it.

Different

I like the music it goes well with the film. I like the abstract art work for it and liked the "story" behind it even though at times I was not sure what was going on in the film. Any way still good job and a good film.

Nice, and a deeper meaning...

I like it, it had this cool dark feel to it, and the animation was really interesting. This is definitely my favorite of yours yet.

The metaphor about leaders and followers especially caught my attention. The world starts with somebody 'different' who tries to walk among everybody else and hide his uniqueness, but eventually it becomes apparent to the people who keep the daily grind going and they try to change him to be like everybody else. He defies the powers that be and rises to become powerful like them, but eventually leaders thrive on the monotony and predictability of others and he spots another outcast among the drones.

Nice work!
