So this isn't any Brackenwood, I realize this, but dammit I'm trying.

Really this is my first whack at anything like this program what-so-ever. Saw a few tutorials here on NG, but they weren't particularly what I needed. I need to know how to animate without having to re-draw every single frame...and if I AM going to remain strictly frame-by-frame, I gotta know how to make it easier...

...if there isn't a way, then I guess it'll just come with practice.

Anyway, leave constructive criticism in your reviews, I will reply to all of them. Thanks for setting the time aside to watch my beginner's P-O-S. (If nothing else, it can serve as a footnote to how long I've come in the future.)

I can see you've tried here, rather than just animating a stick figure waving his arm or some half-assed attempt at a stick figure fight like most other people do when they start flash. it's evident you've concentrated on making it more human-like. Nice blood animating as well, colouring could be better, but after all, this is your first flash :) Well done, better than I could do!

Thanks very much!

I'm trying to make it a point to bring something new to Newgrounds, and I've vowed never to do something cheap and easy. I hope you guys will love what's coming...

10 All the way.

This is a test?

Ok, try creating some graphics of a head body and arm and then layering them on top of every frame, that is how the pros do it.

Your blood animation was just amazing.

If you submit something in 2 weeks that I'll add you to my faves.

Try to do a simple stick fight but not too simple, try to make it ... special somehow, by like, choosing what happens maybe?

But the only improvement you need is to make it longer!

Nice work.

Damn right this is a test; It's my first flash...ever!

Thank you for the 10, and I'm glad you actually liked the blood animation! (That's what took the longest to do, obviously...thank God for onion skins.)

2 Weeks? Hmm...I'll try, but I can guarantee nothing. Work has been kicking my ass, but I seem to be free for the next couple of days, so why not? I can dig a challenge. ;D

Once again, thanks man!

now just add some kind of a point to the flash like a story unless...the point was not to have a point
Tips: Backgrounds make things seem a lot less pointless,
You can sve time by coverting tweening into frame-by-frame. Do that by highlighting it and then pressing f6 on your keybroad. Then you can adjust the frame to look like what you want Ex. faster, longer, etc. So it's tweening trun into frame-by-frame.
Keep up the good work!

Author's Response:

Funny story, I had no fore-thought when I just started doodling...originally I was going to draw a guy walking up and answering his cell-phone (at which point I would develop a story from there.) but then I just had an Evil Dead inspiration where it would be the guy fighting himself....the end result is what you just watched. There really wasn't a point to this flash in particular other than a foot-note for the day that I got flash, and what I was capable of the moment I got it...that and to gain advice through the review-space. Thanks again for the review!
