UPDATE: HELP US RULE KONGREGATE!!
If you like this game, please take a second to visit

Whats up Dinos...
Here's the latest from Pixeljam. We hope the NG crowd enjoys it.

MULTIPLAYER mode is at xgenstudios.com/play/dino run. Race your friends!
If you donate any amount to pixeljam, you get 50+ hats/helmets for your dino + many new colors, which show up in Multiplayer as well: pixeljam.com/donations.

If the game looks weird or wont show a link, try the pop-up version.
INTEL MAC USERS: use Safari. Firefox will not play this game well.

All the basics can be found in HOW TO PLAY, but here are some pointers anyway:

Escape the pyroclastic wall of doom and find your dino sanctuary!
AWSD or Arrow keys move the dino. Or use a combo of both.
SHIFT key gives you a speed boost, which recharges every 20 seconds or so.
Press down while jumping for an air attack. Useful for many things.
You must duck to eat things on the ground.

The game can be played in CHALLENGE or SPEEDRUN mode. It defaults to challenge, which is a collection of 7 levels. Speedruns can be unlocked and chosen in the OPTIONS screen. You need Bones to unlock speedruns (and buy goodies). You get bones by eating critters and reaching milestones.

Earn DNA by collecting eggs and eating critters. Use your DNA to upgrade your dino.
The game auto-saves. You have 3 slots open for different dinos.

The game is DEEP so EXPLORE and have fun!

A step away from perfection..

This game was totally awesum! All the possibilities, the graphics (wich should never be changes, no matter what anyone says) and the especially the theme. I loved the feeling that the colours and the background effects gave me when the wall of doom enclosed.
There is one thing i would wish for in a possible sequel though. Just like in "spore" one should be able to see the changes you make on your dinosaur wiht the DNA. It would be so cool to be able to add the horn of a Triceratops in to a body of an stegosaurus.
So just go ahead and make a sequel with more dinosaurs and customizable dinos, thats the only thing you can do to improve this game. Even if that never happens, this was so entertaining and fun that one cant just ask for more. This deserves full points, keep it up!

Neat

Over all a cool game.

What I really liked about it, was the level of interactivity. It seems every object can interact with every other object! A very cool physics engine! The randomness is neat too, and the fast paced action.

One thing that really irritated me however, was how I could lose my speed for stupd reasons.

For example, I could get "stuck" under about 3 pixels of ledge, meaning I can't jump up :( Everytime I jump up, I'd hit my head and fall down, meaning the lava gets me. The beast isn't very nimble enough to get back and then jump up and around it. And it can't grab onto ledges or anything.

Also, jumping into walls makes you BOUNCE off the wall. This is very unrealistic and very annoying. In real life, you would stick to the wall at least.

Also... you tend to slide off a wall whether or not you want to. In real life, sliding off a wall is hard to do unless you do it on purpose. This makes for slow falling, meaning the lava gets you.

Stupid little things like tiny rocks can totally kill your speed. AAARGH! In real life, he would just step over the rock or kick it or something, not lose 100% of his run speed and DIE.

Also, the terrain slows him down in wierd ways, when the ground goes up at even a 10% incline... he can sometimes "bump" into the ground and lose half his speed. It's so annoying.

For this reason, I get more speed jumping in the air all the time due to unreasonable obstacles.

Please fix the unreasonable obstacles!

Simply astounding.

Awesome game, not only is it simple, but the gameplay is fun and addictive! there are tons of upgrades not only for the game, but also for your dino, which keeps the game entertaining for quite a while. When reviewing a game, I always try to see if they atleast included some type of unlocking or upgrading system in it, the reason for this is because it adds a replay value to the game that encourages players to continue playing it. This game has a lot of unlockables, including a free run mode that allows you to run through all the levels that you unlocked using bones (Which is the standard currency for purchasing unlockables). The pixel graphics make the game even more amusing, along with its own style of old school music. Their are great many more features in this game which I can't list in here, But I am sure this is a game that would appeal to anyone (You really need to play this game to see everything it has!). This is a game I know that I will be replaying quite a few times to get everything I want out of it. When I feel that way about a game, I know I have found a game that really has everything in it that a player could want.

Overall, amazing game. I can't even think of any problems this game has! except for the overwhelming paranoia I get when I am trying to out run a colossal vortex of spiraling doom!

Great job! Would love to see a sequel to this!
