Oh boy.... Dragonforce ep, eh? Well, what a good way to reach the end of this particular reviewing spree. See, I've still got about another dozen of your movies to review, but I'm gonna take a break for a day or two and review the rest before (or on) Clock Day.
It IS like Nintendo music, Shadow. THAT'S THE WHOLE FREAKING POINT. VG metal FTW!!! Terra... come on, now. Whew. TERRA J/K FTW... sorta.
LOL! Gogo meets Borat: "Dragonforce mimic themselves... I LIKE!" Well said, GogoBorat. Well said. That cannot be denied, after all.
Hahahah... soldiers... such bandwagon-jumpers. My gf doesn't like Dragonforce, BTW, but I've played TTFAF on GH3 enough times in the living room with the volume up while she was TRYING to ignore it over here on the desktop PC... to the point that if I play it from the CD in the car, she complains at first, but then she's singing along with most of the song. #;-}>
To be fair, she says she enjoys the vocals (lyrical silliness is part of the appeal of the vocals, I think, and the singer's voice isn't bad for metal), she just can't handle the 3-4 minute superfast guitar solos. They start to wear her down. #;-}>
Anyway, Edgar and Locke, of course, had the most comprehensive and reasonable assessments of the band. The band ain't great, but they've got a couple good songs (and some bad ones... yet all their songs sound the same... HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?).
You shoulda used Cry for Eternity in the flash (along with TTFAF as the solo, as you did), IMO. Valley of the Damned is okay but nothing special. Cry for Eternity's right up there with TTFAF in terms of 8 minute enjoymints and actually has a lot more variety from start to finish, especially in the long solo/instrumental passages in the 40-80% range (ALL 7-8 MINUTE DRAGONFORCE SONGS HAVE THE SAME SOLO AREAS, IT'S AMAZING!). PLEASE TO BE HAVING MOAR CRY FOR ETERNITY!
:::presses the TTFAF solo button and enjoys::: LATER, DRAGON!

HURRAY!
lol at your gf's reactions to DragonForce.
Nah, Valley of the Damned had to be here, simply because many overlook their first two albums and they really shouldn't overlook Valley of the Damned. So that's why I added the song Valley of the Damned to this flash. :)
