If you've never played the Secret of Monkey Island, maybe you should kill yourself right now, cause this is the funniest game ever made. If you HAVE played it: remember those three trials you went through to become a pirate? Well there was one more...
Update, 2/25/02: Changed the start screen into a pre-loader.
Since a lot of people asked: I got the game sprites just by running Monkey Island PC version on an old P166, took PrintScreens and got characters like that. Text was pieced together from game dialogue.
Update, 6/02/04: Taking a look at it now, this thing is damn crude and a little juvenile. Hey, it's practically my first Flash movie ever. Whatever your feelings are on this clip, you might want to also check out my movie Monkey Island 2: Outtakes, which is less crude in humor and better in design. Uh, also, don't hold your breath expecting "Loom: Bobbin's Revenge". That was just an old, rough idea that I had and probably wouldn't work out.

A subjective overall score. A shady review.
This is a spoof of the once-popular computer game 'The Secret of Monkey Island'. It contains material which was supposedly cut from the original game, and is based around humour.
The joke took a few seconds to dawn upon me, and when it did, I didn't find myself laughing. I was, however, smiling.
The actual joke may not have been laugh-worthy for me, but if it could have been told better, I don't know how. I would have to say that this realises the full potential of this joke of questionable quality.
The spirit of the original game is retained, and if you look further, you'll find another short animation. This 'bonus feature' is perhaps not as effective, but is worth watching if you waited for the main feature to load.

Cool...
I didn't really like it but I think it's really well done. Now I've got one question. Does anybody know how to get the sprites and sounds from a game for the PC, like this one? If you do, email me at Katanaman_creator@hotmail.com.

That was the single best thing I have seen on the portal. Partly because of that music bringing back so many happy memories of Stan, Elaine, the original LeChuck, the cannibals... The whole thing was hilarious, even the gratuitous swearing! The whole movie was great, and that [HIDDEN EXTRA] at the end made me wet myself. This gets 10 and as many 5s as it takes to get it into the top 50 :D

much bigger, too :) the original version had the Monkey Island 3 song "A pirate I was meant to be" which I really hated to drop, but it caused the filesize to become five times smaller. Thanks for the kind words, all.
