THERE IS NOW A TUTORIAL YOU MUST READ IT OR THIS COMMENTARY (I would recommend the tutorial) TO PLAY.
The enemy artwork was created by plant-eating-cat, a good friend of mine and was based around my design of the main character he also created the scenery artwork...
Please read the KEYS and the little notice on the bottom...

Fuelled on iTunes visualizers, good music and maybe a biscuit or two, I set to work. And created the ULTIMATE (so far) version of my *sarcasm* ever so popular *sarcasm* platformer game maker, so here it is!
PLATFORMER GAME MAKER V6
Please use the keys listed below.

KEYS:
WASD -- Move camera in edit mode and move character in playing mode.
ARROW KEYS -- Move characters starting point in edit mode.
SPACE -- Attack.
Q -- Change weapon left.

"Cool!"

date: August 8, 2008

This is a really cool game! My only complaint is that there isn't enough music choices and there should have been more characters. This is a really good Flash application and it is a realy amazing experiment with Actionscript. Thanks for the cool Flash.

Wow!
Thanks a lot!
I haven't been working on it a lot recently but I've had some good ideas that should be easy to add to it.
Thanks again!

"Some ideas..."

date: June 24, 2008

1. Different enemies
2. Different scenery items (trees, for a start)
3. Smaller terrain blocks (like, 40x40 or something) and different types of terrain blocks.
4. The ability to change the size of the brush (so when you draw terrain it doesn't come out really big)
5. A 'level code', so you can save your levels or share them with friends (that would be cool)
6. It still lagged when I made a large level, and I didn't see any 'flashy effects'.
7. Tone down the gun's power. Right now it can shoot through multiple enemies, which makes it kinda overpowered.
8. Scenery backgrounds (like forest, lake, mountain, etc.)

That's a lot of things to improve on. As it is, it's pretty good. With these improvements, it would be brilliant. Keep it up.

Author's Response:

I've had some trouble, I lost the latest version but I've made some backups so it should be up and ready again soon.
Thanks for the ideas! There was a problem that the guns shoot through the walls and ground. I am glad to say now that this has been fixed and will be in the new version (coming soon). I'll try to do all those!

Wow, thanks for the great review, I'm trying to get it in there with all the other projects I'm doing at the moment. But I'll try to get it done as early as possible.
I think the word 'evolution' sums it up in one! Thanks again!

"Better and better"

date: May 21, 2008

I am very proud of the progress you have made with this project and thank you for PMing me when you uplode new ver.

a couple of suggestions I would like to make for the next ver.

~the back ground now that the camera pans (very well btw) see if you can input layers for bg i used the simple red fade bg and because i did there was a great effect when you started throwing in red lines it looked like the terrain was just appearing. could you throw in a few setting bg? ex. city, forest, cave, snow.

also can you give the lines a stamp effect? so if you draw a line it will look like it is leaf coverd ground etc.

I know i ask alot but thats because you have proven over and over that you are capeable of delivering, but is there a way we could "impot" images and flag them as, weapon, main char., baddie, bg.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me I love being some small part of this.

Keep up the good work!!

P.S. dive mechanics and animation would be sweet, and a kill zone tool to create pit falls.

Cool ideas there!
I'll see what I can do. I think the leaves on the lines idea is excellent! I'll give that a try first and get on with the rest.
