"Noxious Gases and You" (NG-T102)
Written and Directed by Daran Carlin-Weber
Produced by Ixintro Animation Enterprises

This is the not-very-long awaited second webisode of "Tywo at Large"! Just before I begin, yes, it is supposed to be black-and-white. Anyway, the first version of this movie was made all the way back in Septmber 2007 and has been available on YouTube since then. It was originally made as a school chemistry project (Hence the strange educational theme from the movie). This is why it doesn't have much of a plot. Oh, the original version of this only took 4 days! Final version took about 3 weeks to perfect.

Also, this movie won first place for the IU 17 Pennsylvania Regional Computer Fair in April (So you know it must be good!) Okay, that's all I have to say, go watch, enjoy, love.

"Great"

Another funny and well animated episode

Graphically it was very good, nothing to fault it. Great free flowing animations. And the "educational" film look worked quite well too.

The sound was as good as the animations, voice acting was superb and the music was top notch, just overall a great package.

Overall it was as good as 1.5 but I liked this one more because of the story, it just seemed to be more natural. Great job

"Sweet"

This was good, i liked the whole "public service announcement" style of it, those are always good to exploit. :P
This was shorter than 1.5 which was good, it was short and sweet and full of the funnies. Nice work.

The graphics once again were great, consistant and good as always, and the greyscale format of the flash fit the theme of it perfectly. Good work. The animation was smooth throughout and the voice acting was good and clear, accompanied by the calm music.

Overall it was good, and i prefered it to 1.5
Nice work man :D

"I'm still looking forward to #3."

Another great animation, but this one didn't seem as good as #1.5.

My main beef was with the fact that whilst the first toon sorta hinted at a larger one, this doesn't really say anything about Tywo, seeming like it's not really 'canon'. That one seemed more like a glimpse into a series with working logic and I was eager to see future work. Here, there was no explanation for Tywo being part of the presentation and I didn't really get a feel for any of the characters, nor feeling that this is a 1951 production.

Also, the jokes largely seemed to all revolve around Tywo being scared or hurt (with a bit more predictibility) and the pace didn't seem as fast, with the last joke seeming like it was being dragged out following all the same, predictable, standard twists.

I liked the bird dropping but add more stuff to keep the promising standard of #1.5

I liked the pun 'jumping to conclusions'.

The intro is great - faster than we can take in, meaning there's stuff to see on subsequent watches, kinda like the futurama intro. I'm looking forward to seeing the episodes the intro shows. Have you already made future episodes? Seems insanely well organised.

Author's Response:

Thanks, it wasn't canon because it was just some fast movie I whipped up in a few days for a Chemistry class, the reason it takes place back then was that I originally wanted to have a color wrap-around at the end where Tywo is reaming Jackal for looking for summer jobs in other time periods (Jackal's the genius). I never got around to it though.

"Awesomely informative"

Anoterh fine episode from Tywo and co. This time, showing us exactly what is going on with things in the lab in most of the wrong ways. And there wasn't even a naked flame in sight, which is the number one cause of accidents in the lab.

Mind you, letting Tywo run riot with a naked flame is probably not the best idea...

I love the way that you've gone for the black and white approach, showing us that the film has been made for the purposes of government safety education, which notoriously sucks balls.

I would have thrown in a few more examples here and there, as Tywo did have the basics right - he was wearing the correct safety equipment, so that's an excellent start. I'd suggest that you show us that he can actually do something right, for a change, as he does come across as somewhat of a jerk. Loveable, but still a jerk.

"Pretty Good"

date: June 18, 2008

This seems to be a pretty good flash, though didn't really find this one too funny in many ways, though it is pretty good. The style of this is also very good and done pretty well though the narration didn't seem to be that much of something like this sort of video, so maybe that could be worked on a bit if you plan on doing something like this again.

Animation here was good and the graphics where also very good, the black and white worked well with this I think, though there was one part with colour, not sure what you where trying there but okay. Overall a pretty decent flash and it definatly had it's moments, but lacked somethings I feel.

5/5

Author's Response:

The color part was just some strange half-baked idea I had to scare the crap out of the kids watching my presentation in Chemistry class.
