**Original**
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor recently announced a fanmade 'film festival', in which users could submit their own music videos for their album "Ghosts I -IV".
Inspired by the track '7 Ghosts I', I created this video, an exploration of a post-apocalyptic, war-scarred landscape. I used Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and Flash CS3 in the process.
This video may appear very dark and hard to see on some monitors. If you find this is the case, there's a handy little navigation bar to the upper right, the second of the two buttons will brighten the video which will hopefully make things a bit easier to see for you... Also included a play/pause button for your convenience!
Please let me know what you think! You can view a low-resolution, absolutely-brutalised-by-
compression version on YouTube at http://www.youtube.com/wa tch?v=T2Jc9LTKS9E - feel free to leave me comments there as well. I hope you all enjoy it!
For those of you not aware, the album 'Ghosts I - IV' was released under a "Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial Share Alike license", pretty much meaning this sort of fan video (as well as remixes etc) is totally legal, as long as due credit is given. **Update**
Hey everyone, thanks for all the feedback so far! I'm glad that a lot of you enjoyed it, and I really appreciate all the nice comments you're leaving me.
To address the main criticism: Yep, there's not much of a story, just a collection of scenery really. It was actually intentional, for a couple of reasons - I felt that trying to put a story to the music would feel forced, so I thought it would be better to go for just setting a mood/atmosphere just to provide a visual companion. It's all about the music, after all! Also, the basic idea is that this is a glimpse of a "post-apocalyptic" kind of setting, where mankind is gone, and nature is free to reclaim the land - so other than the occasional animal, there's not really much else that can happen.
I totally get the criticism though, I was afraid myself that it might be too boring for a lot of people's tastes, and I assure you my next submission to Newgrounds will be more interesting! Thanks for taking the time to watch it anyway, and for giving me feedback :)
