This design is an abstract clock. Can u read the time?
Here is the instruction of the time device:

Squares:
-seconds are counted by the blinking them on the top and bottom bars
-the blinking motion gives a sense of rhythm like the music beater

Circles:
-1-minutes are shown by filling them in a lighter color
-they are simulating the gouged holes for recording time which weremade by the hunters in Ice Age

Crosses:
-10-minutes are counted by filling them in a lighter color
- it is simulating the Chinese character which means "ten"

Hours:
-they are shown by filling color in the retangular shapes, v-shapes and x-shapes
-the shapes are silmulating the Romanization
