I've worked on abstracta a couple of weeks now, and I'm proud to present it on NG!

Abstracta is an attempt at translating classic game mechanics that I love into a unique and fluent new game experience. It starts simple: collect crystals, make combos, avoid the deadly mines, fight the four evil bosses - but it gets increasingly complex over time, as more powerups are unlocked.

Controls: Mouse to move. SPACEBAR to toggle menu.

Note: I found abstracta very immersive during development, to the point where I didn't get any work done because every time I tested a new feature I ended up playing 15 minutes, completely forgetting what I should be testing. Well, might be just me, but don't say I didn't warn you, it might be addictive ;)

"OldsKool but modern!"

Its just a great idea to make an game which you can lose yourself in and be numb for a couple of hours,
Which is because of the simplistic oldscool gameplay and the modern graphics
which are (in my opinion) the best things of both genres.
You did na great job in making this game.

The only bad thing is that theres the go to kongregate. com trick.
Its really annoying,
Im still giving this submission my ten Why? : do you ask
Well its because im pretty pissed off of seeing poeple give low ratings just because the game didnt work on their PC or personal dislikes like racism or gore or even just because they think that way you will get an higher post count.

"sweet"

love the simplicity of it, a vertical scrolling shooter without shooting... very well done, great gameplay...

... so cool also to just happen to stumble upon this after seeing it in that channel five flash gaming expose the other days ago...

Very much like it. The scoring system is good, and the powerups are just fantastic. my favourite has to be 'spin' XD fricking love it.
got 60K first time and 500K second :)

"Great Idea"

Really Its a Great Idea, but the boss battle was a bit too slow paced [atleast the first] and the powerups seemed to far away due to unlocking them over time rather than by score. Great job making it although if it was a bit bigger it would be easier because it felt to small to me. I'm really impressed by the variations of powerups and creativity involved in this game, seriously good job and I'm awaiting your next flash.
