heartLINE was an experiment in making gameplay and storytelling compliment eachother in an action game.

You have just returned from WWII, and your wife has been infected by a deadly biological weapon that throws off the beat of her heart. With the help of a military doctor involved in unusual medical research, you miniaturize yourself to fight off the virus from within your wife's bloodstream. You must follow the beat of her heart to save her life, and you must never let her heart stop beating.

Music, art, design, and programming by Kevin Dressel.

Hints:
-The game is about 8 minutes long, including a final boss.
-Don't hit the red blood clots, they will kill you immediately
-Most of the action was hand-choreographed on the timeline. Same game each play.
-There IS a health boost after the first half, so hang in there!

Updates:
-Bugs should be fixed now:
+ Game is playable and beatable to the end
+ Game should stay in sync
+ Game should not freeze anymore
+ Also, the preloader actually works now

...very creative. Really like the way the dialogue informs you of your wife while you try to kill the virus with the rythm. Although the difficulty factor is off the hook when the white blood cells start raining down.

"You need to work on this..."

Most of the time, unless the flash really pisses me off yours didn't though, I say "this has potential" or "with a little more work this could be better." But with this I can't say that it has potential, because it just doesn't. I'm not being mean here it's just that games like this, unless it has a great hook or fantastic gameplay, are extremely dated and repetitive. Try your hand at something else, maybe a film, but don't continue with this style. Better luck next time.

"Top Down Shooter + Rhythm Game. Addictive!"

The graphics may not be perfect. There might not be upgrades, but...

There's a storyline! There's a new niche crossover genre! There's innovation! And all in a nifty little simple to play package. This is the epitome of where "casual games" should be heading.

Great job! Thumbs up!

(could use a bit more instruction, continues, and bouncing off the walls/clots. I'd personally like to have keyboard controls as well, but that's just me)

"Seriously?"

This isn't a good game, no check points, pointlessly long and I think you tried to combind two genres that can't be molded together this way, atleast not without health regenerations.
