Several months since I first started it, after months of delays, it's finally completed. Featuring old school graphics, fast-paced game play and great music from the NG Audio Portal, -RetroSplode- is my proudest solo work.

Fun but...

Wierd control scheme. Moving with WASD is fine (and perfect) but shooting with the arrow keys is just unorthodox and makes the game much harder than it needs to be. cant we get shooting and aiming with the mouse?

The boss fights were expecially difficult with this set up sadly.

The music is fun but can make you screw up as the beat makes you feel as if your in a rush.

DonutMaster responds:

Change the controls for aiming to whatever you want (mouse or some other key combination) in the options menu. You can get to options from the main menu.

Make sure you hit save settings before you go onto the game, which is at the bottom left of the options menu.

ok could be better

The initial controls are horrid. The game is zoomed in on the upper left quadrant so you cannot see enemies outside this zone. in wave mode the red enemies that look like bigger versions of you are impossible to kill because they often go out of view.

This is decent

I like the theme you used as far as the whole geometry wars thing, but the controls could use a little tweaking. I mean I even tried to change them around some, and it still seemed squirrly. I loved the idea, and the Music is great! What is the name of the song?

DonutMaster responds:

Glad you liked the theme. Yes, this game is heavily influenced by Geometry Wars. Very heavily.

I tried to put in as much user customization as I could. The controls could be set to any number of schemes. It saddens me that despite this I still was not able to make the controls to your liking. Should I make another game with such customization, I will be sure to try even harder at making the controls scheme better.

The song that automatically plays is "X" -ZERO- by X-Infinity-Zero. The other song that is in the favorites list in the DDSP by default is {Runaway} by DaGrahamCraka, one of my favorite songs. Thats why a portion of it is my intro.
