Why the line keeps dissappearing: I asume this is made in Macromedia Flash or a later Adobe version after the buyout: If you put the line in it's own frameline, and set keyframes in the start and end frame of where you want it, then use the fading tool (I only had flash for beginners, there might be something else you can use), it should stay in place the entire time
