EDIT: Front page? Niceness! Thanks everyone!
W00t, over 25,000 views! Thanks everybody, yet again!

At last, the sequel to the front-page winning SRM Transformers is here!

I've been working on it on and off for a month straight - whether I was just drawing out character designs or doing the laborious transforming animation for BRAWL (over 3 hours to do one second of animation)

I took a bunch of viewer suggestions from the first one in - subs are in and SOUNDWAVE is no longer purple (he was in the comics, eh)

Regardless, it's finally completed. It's about as long as the last one, and the credits at the end are a little different (should stay consistent, like a TV show) but they're worth watching too!

Anyway, hope you guys like it - I know how much everyone loved the first one!
And leave a review - I respond to all of em!

"Nice work."

The most scene I liked here was when Grimlock bites Brawl down. That's gotta be a lot of damage!

Had to have a fight scene in there somewhere.

"A definite improvement."

This was definitely a whole lot better than the first episode. This was largely thanks to the inclusion of subtitles, which meant I was able to follow what was going on. Another reason is the improvement in humour, as this time I found a few jokes funny as opposed to just the one. Seeing one of the transformers actually transform was nice to see and this was something that was missing the first time round.

There also seemed to have a bit more of a storyline to it this time round, although the plot definitely wasn't one of this movie's strengths. Since this is a series perhaps you could bring in some sort of ongoing storyline/s instead of just having the entire episodes based around a fight. The introduction of a new character seemed to be a good thing to base a storyline upon, but you didn't really seem to do anything with it.

Unfortunately the movie still didn't really appeal to my tastes as, just like the first episode, it was far too silly. I was also a little disappointed that the characters hadn't been upgraded graphically. Although the newly created backgrounds in this episode seemed to be a little better than the older ones.

Author's Response:

First of all, thanks for all the constructive criticisms. Normally it's just "this was good lololol" or "this sucks, and by extension, so do you."

I really listened to what viewers said the first time around and implemented subtitles and actual transforming Transformers. I was still a fairly inexperienced animator at the time, but it was a big step forward to actually animate them.

Plot isn't something I really focused on in the first two SRM Transformers flashes. They were just two little projects I wanted to put out that happened to blossom into a fairly successful series. However, if you watch the original Transformers, it was all about showing off the new toys (in a literal sense as well as metaphorical) and having the robots fight each other, as opposed to creating a strong story to focus the cartoon around. I have made much more effort into making stories in the third and fourth parts of this series, so watch those if you wish.

Sorry the flash didn't appeal to you. I don't see anything wrong with being "far too silly" as it's intended to be a comedy. As for graphical updates, I don't update every time I make a new flash. That's ludicrous. I don't think you'll find many people on Newgrounds that do that, or at least not people who make series-based flashes. Watch Homestar Runner - there have been half a dozen graphical upgrades since that series began, and it started close to a decade ago.

Sorry you didn't like it - give my other flashes a chance if you will. Thanks for writing a lengthy review, but frankly I made this flash a pretty long time ago so some of your criticisms have been addressed already.

Hey, I've got two more installments planned out as of this review's writing, so keep your eyes peeled for more awesome.
Also, I think Mini-Starscream's scream would make a kickass ringtone.

"Me, Grimlock!"

date: April 7, 2009

That was great! Grimlock is my favorite transformer. It was clever giving him that mouth like in Animated since he can't transform.

Author's Response:

Thanks :) He's always been one of my favorites too. I took a bit of his and Ratchet's designs from Animated. Thanks for watching!
