It's 2am, gran is in the kitchen making her famous cottage pie...it's a disaster waiting to happen! Your house catches fire and it's down to you to save the family. Using a variety of items (and a bit of quick thinking) you need to get all your family in to the safe room before its too late. You have a maximum of 3 minutes, and every second really counts!

Some of you retro gamers may recognise the Sinclair Spectrum style of this game. We added a bit of classic 1980's computer game sparkle for added effect. Dig those loading screens, marvel in that loading sound, but don't waste too much time on it, remember...grans on fire in the kitchen!

Its the second time this game has appeared on Newgrounds, It was up for a day last year but the men in suits made us pull it. Now they are happy and so are we. Enjoy

3 or 4 tries. It war fun

A bit easy on the intellect, though. I'd love to have seen more rooms and a slightly higher scale difficulty. But hey, a fun game, a Sierra-esque sense of humor, and a PSA all in one. A+. Speaking of Sierra-esque, I think that this coulda been made a bit funnier, and more challenging through the use of some bizarre items, a la Maniac Mansion. Thanks for bringing it back to the days before Commodore 64, though.

What a rush!

Nothing like a timed, horror survival game to get the blood flowing. It took me a couple tries before you could anybody to escape, but I finally got all the members out in time. I love the retro feel to the game. What would have really put the icing on the cake is multiple escape routes, but yeah, the front door would have been too easy. On that note, in reality, why is the front door lock from the outside? That was the only thing that really bugged me about this game, but not enough to merit a score of 9. In other words, I loved the game, and will patiently wait for your next game.

Thanks for the good review.

You don't have to wait for our next game, there are plenty more from us on this site. Some really good games, some that are OK games and others that are a bit crap (but we were young!)

I love it

It's retro, and who doesn't like that? The whole escape thing is pretty much an undiscovered jem in the flash world, as not much has been done around it sense warebears. It's enjoyable and has quite a bit of replay value.
I have one question though, when I opened the window, and had everyone up except the sister, flames burst through the upper house, is this because of oxygen flow, or is that the only end? I haven't tried closing the door first, but thats because there isn't enough time to wake them all up, get them in the room and close the door etc...

wow this takes me back

I love the music and graphic style, it feels like i'm playing an old classic game on emulator :D

I haven't quite figured out what to do in the game yet, I can't seem to be able to rescue anyone..... oh well I'll figure it out

Hope to see more retro games from you in the future

Matmi responds:

Glad you like the game. Its slightly different than our usual more polished produce but it has been great to go back to the good old days.

We really enjoyed making this game (even though it was dead hard) and did not know what the response would be.

Cheers for the review. Good luck.
