I love America...
I'm not too sure about the rest of the world, but I see this level of stupidity, if not exceeding of this example, on a daily basis. When I went to see I am legend, there was a trailer in the beginning for the next batman movie. When Heath Ledger appeared on screen, someone behind me said "Oh look thats Jim Carey!" First off, I highly doubt that they would re-use the same actor from a previous batman film who portrayed a different character (He was the Riddler in the one with George Clooney) and cast him as a different character, (watch Arnold Schwarzenagger end up being the Penguin). So among all this, I loved it because it's an accurate portrayal of how painstakingly obvious you have to be for people to understand things, and it's fucking hilarious.

You are right, some people are incredibly stupid and are incapable of figuring out something that obvious. By the way, I have not seen the movie but I have read the book that the movie was based on. In the book his wife and kid die from the disease that causes everyone to become zombie/vampires.
From what I understand the book differs in quite a few ways, particularly in the fact that it doesn't have a hope filled hollywood ending. I've got a friend who is lending it to me and I am looking forward to reading it.
