Come, listen to the story of Captain Hampton and his fight against the Midget Pirates, as told by The Aquabats. Adventure, Epic Struggle, Action, and Hilarity await.
A music video made for The Best Band in The World, Period - The Aquabats.
Funny enough, this was the first big project I started on when I got flash. It's funny to see how the stuff at the opening is nowhere near the calibur of the animation at the closing.
Go check out The Aquabats.
Oh, and submit this to the music video catagory. It definitely belongs there.
Quantity over quality
I commend the on how long this is, and how well you synched the lips. However, little else is well done, especially not the animations!
Wow. Strong words coming from someone with no animations under his belt. I sure am going to take your review serriously, so thanks for pointing out all the individual flaws with this animation project. I'll take your suggestions and apply them to future animation projects so that I'll finally get the approval of you: a single user who has an dissenting opinion from the majority of reviewers. Oh how I crave to please only you.
Thanks for lowering my review score. Jerk.
Hope you got the aquabats' permission ;-) The only thing that bothered me was the simplistic animation loops. Other than that... liked it.
The Aquabats and I are like this *crosses fingers.*
Anyway, glad you liked it. I agree that some of the loops, especially at the beginning were pretty simplistic. This movie is actually a good showcase of my improvement, since it showcases my skill from my beginnings of flash to my recent animation skills.
Keep an eye out for my next Aquabats related animation, which will be released sometime this upcoming year. It's going to be so much more awesome than this.
Truer words (well, word) have never been typed.
You did the whole song, great ideas, and great song!
Thanks for liking the animation.
Of course I'd do the whole song.
Really good animation for a really amazing song. Keep up the good work. One of the things that bugged me though, was the lip sync. No offense, but using the "Symbol method" looks kind of ugly. Might I suggest frame by frame lip sync?
You definitely could make that suggestion of frame by frame lip synching. I probably would be disinclined to acquiest your request, though, as I think that symbol lip synching is a fine method that saves a lot of time and energy. I personally believe that the number of successful artists that use this method - Johny Utah, Homestar Runner, Harvey Birdman, I could go on - proves that it is not a flawed technique, but one that is usually flawed in execution.
I think that my execution went rather smoothly, though, thanks to the number of phonetic sounds I represented and the number of keyframes I used in my lip synching. I do see what you mean on one part during the chorus, where the MCBC is saying "Captain Hampton" really fast, and the lip synching is not amazing. But that was unfortunately unavoidable, as the framerate was 16, which does not allow for many points of articulation for very fast words.
I'm glad you liked it otherwise. Oh, wait. I just right now realized you were BillDing. I didn't look at the name before I started the response. That's funny. How's it going? Well, Bill, I'm glad you liked it otherwise. It didn't have quite the same level of caffene as your Super Rad one, but it's nice to know that it's still entertaining.
An indirect Sequel to "The Artist" shows the life of the salaryman
Cornelius & Toots are back, and a Haunted House Ride seems a little spookier than usual!
this one isn't funny
