While it may have seemed that it didn't take that much effort to make, it was still a very heartwarming flash, and it's nice to have that sort of thing around Christmas time, the thing that Christmas is really all about. The birthday cake said "1", which I think meant it would be his first birthday, but wouldn't this be his zeroth birthday? Or what? Never mind.
Wow! The sheer length of this piece alone is an impressive example of the work that went into this Christmas Card. There are three distinct music changes, not to mention the sound layering! The detailing is fantastic! The black sheep, The "Holy Day Inn," the wise man's twitching moustache... I catch something new with each additional viewing! Great Card, can't wait to see what you put together for next Christmas!
Cute E-card Type animation. some of the animation was particularly painful, like the camels walk cycle and way the sheep looked like they were sucked into a vortex when they jump over the Shepard.
The static swirls on the hillside when the camera panned was jarring, but I'm assuming that was an artistic choice
Aside from that. It was a nice little toon.
But keep at it, Im sure you skills will improve with age.
It's a little too happy for my taste. The scream and other sounds you used are hilarious, though i don't think you intended them to be? And some of jokes were a little too knee-slapping for me. A good beginner flash, which is a shambe because you've been doing this for soooo long. I liked your unpublished (on NG anyway) 12 days of Christmas better, because it had whimsy. This was a great family Xmas card, but too slow paced to be much more than that. Needs to be edgier to suit me.
