UDPATE (NOW LIVE!) Game has been patched according to user suggestions:

- Battles now run significantly faster.
- Block can only be used twice on your bar, but the cool down has been decreased.
- Paladin's Shield now has a much longer cool down.
- Rock Golems can no longer use Suppression. Health decreased, damage increased.
- Blade Shaman's heals now have a larger cool down, and he can no longer regen focus.
- All the audio is now in sync with the subtitles.
- You can now Re-Spec 5 times a day instead of once.
- Veradux's "Re-Energize" ability now only applies a buff that restores 10 focus per turn, so when he casts it on a target with full focus, you still get 90% of the benefit.

Noted Criticism (But will not be updated for Sonny):

- More sound controls
- Manual control over AI
- Item bug in inventory
- Smarter AI
- More animation variety
- Better storyline
- Non linear gameplay
- Better Cutscenes
- Better AI

I'd go as far to say that games like these are flawed in the sense that the gameplay is... inexistant. You have all the wonders of allowing the user total control over a player with the keyboard, yet you let them "choose what move to do" from a list. It's a joke, I've never understood how people manage to find it entertaining, surely only a child who enjoyed watching the attack animation would be interested.
Apart from that the sound was brilliant and it was all excellently executed, I just can't believe you went for the easy option for combat. Just because other RPGs adapt this shit idea doesn't mean you have to follow, games like this don't really exist on the market anymore because it's just so damn simple, boring, and tbh... can be played by retards.

You are skilled, and you may just like this genre, but I don't see why you could like something so disgustingly easy. This is effectively an electron board game, please make the next one a video game.

Krinn responds:

You need to get a bit more into it, the 'chose your move from a list' becomes more complicated later on. It soon becomes a game of mathematical strategy, rather than stat pumping like most other RPGs.

But you are right, why would I make such a mundane looking system when the player can use the entire keyboard?

The answer is, this is a small step towards an MMORPG in Flash, and basically, the technology of it depends on a turn based system to run smoothly. So basically 'turn base' is a premise we have to work with, and cannot change. We've done the best we can to make it exciting, and more improvements are set to come in later versions.

So give it another chance and tell me what you think.. As I've always said to people with a similar complaints as yours... Make it into Zone 3 :P It really starts to escalate from there.

It's REALLY good, but way unbalanced.

I played this game for hours, enjoyed every bit, except ONE THING...

Bosses just kill you in one hit. It's ridiculous. I had to fight the samurai guy eight times because every time, he'd just activate his rage thing and literally kill me three times over (900+ damage) in ONE HIT. It didn't matter what gear I had, what level, what stats, abilities, nothing. Your partner Veradux always dies to the attack because he never defends, heck, he can't survive a normal attack most of the time. I realized it'd take me three levels to get to the attack ability that stuns, but that would take hours due to the very slow battle action. It's just so friggin' slow.

My partner guy was just so weak, too. He'd either sit there healing me or himself, or dish out pitiful damage. It takes 20 minutes to beat rock golems!

Goddamn, if it weren't such a great game, I would be giving a pretty low score. I really hope you balance this stuff out. For each level I gain 1 lousy stat point and 1 lousy ability, when enemies jump hundreds of hitpoints and dozens of attack points. I can't bother to continue playing as the third stage I struggle with so much, I KNOW for a fact I can't beat the boss, whatever it may be.

Also, I chose assassin, and I sometimes lost to the very first few fights no matter how hard I tried, so that should say something right there. It was like made for one class when every other class falls behind.

Krinn responds:

Bosses will only kill you in one hit if you don't counter their Enrage. You can do this with: ElectroBolt, Break, and ShatterBolt (and Block, but that only half works). If I made it any simpler to play this, a lot of other people will complain that it is too easy.

The battle IS slow, but that has been fixed, and the update should come in a few days. You aren't meant to rely on your partner TOO much, he is simply a heal bot to give you more room to make mistakes. Rock Golems have too much health and they have been nerfed too (again, update isn't live yet).

Each level you actually gain more than one stat, they are added automatically. You gain about 4 points worth of stats from there. Don't worry about scaling, it should be fine.

I just think you need to figure out the tactics a bit more, think outside the box a bit, because there is a way to beat every boss without spending too much time training and that.

I actually BETA tested the game entirely as an Assassin. There are no problems with that class, it works fine :D It isn't exactly straightforward, but it can get through the game without having to side track to train all that much.

Just sit tight for the update and you'll have an easier time with more Re-Specs, and weaker Rock Golems, and faster battle speeds!

Good luck! I hope you make it to Zone 4! :D
