UDPATE (NOW LIVE!) Game has been patched according to user suggestions:

- Battles now run significantly faster.
- Block can only be used twice on your bar, but the cool down has been decreased.
- Paladin's Shield now has a much longer cool down.
- Rock Golems can no longer use Suppression. Health decreased, damage increased.
- Blade Shaman's heals now have a larger cool down, and he can no longer regen focus.
- All the audio is now in sync with the subtitles.
- You can now Re-Spec 5 times a day instead of once.
- Veradux's "Re-Energize" ability now only applies a buff that restores 10 focus per turn, so when he casts it on a target with full focus, you still get 90% of the benefit.

Noted Criticism (But will not be updated for Sonny):

- More sound controls
- Manual control over AI
- Item bug in inventory
- Smarter AI
- More animation variety
- Better storyline
- Non linear gameplay
- Better Cutscenes
- Better AI

Great Game

Not gonna complain about the AI, it is good enough to my standards. The rest of us just have standards set too high for games :)

Well done, for sure.

This game has simple design which is easily mastered, and yet it's the little things that really make a difference. You can't just hack 'n slash through it after the ship stages. That said, I only got to the Ghost Samurai, in which I got utterly thrashed. Wound kept missing and my Smash could only hit so high. Those dark magic attacks did somewhere in the ballpark of 47 per turn, so my Destroyer was taken down, step by step.

Graphics: 8
Gameplay: 10
Storyline: 7

Gets a rough 9, from me. 5'd it.

words can't describe

(long review)
Best flash rpg I think I've ever seen. This is almost console quality...well old consoles and newer portables anyway. Good thing the AI is getting fixed in next update because I've actually thrown my laptop in a fit of rage (onto my bed but the rage was very real and dangerous.) More re-specs is also a welcome update as the latter bosses take very different strategies to beat.
Currently on zone 4 fighting Omen with a lv. 16 gunslinger w/ mixed paladin/gunslinger armors, and the pure +magic/focus weapon set. Vera w/ paladin set and amber w/ mixed paladin/assassin armor and assassin weapons. Ignition was pretty easy to beat. Just use subversion on him when he regens or use it on one of ur guys when he uses fate and shatterbolt him whenever using electrobolt to damage him and debuff. Omen trounces me cuz of the huge hp pool. I can get him down to about 10% ish before I either run out of focus, i miss a shatter bolt causing one of my guys to die, or i get killed by omen during the intermissions between his omen skill. It doesn't help that the ai is completely random lol tho they do the majority of the damage (using melees too.) Skillset is lv 1 electro bolt (dont use it much in omen fight tho), lv 1 break lv 1 shatterbolt 2x, Re-charge, Blood Focus, Block, Subversion. Other skills: lv 5 hp boosting passive (i forget name) and all the prereques. It works really well but its a long fight giving plenty of opportunites for a fatal miss on shatterbolt. The break is tossed in because omen uses omen every 4th turn and each shatterbolt has an 8 turn cd causing one turn w/ out a shatterbolt. Its very luck based atm especially the ai. Once vera poison bolted during omen for 25k twice in a row. Other time he healed himself for 80 hp and re-energized for two omens.
Hope that helps anyone stuck on zone 4 and glad that most of my complaints are being addressed in the update.
Sorry bout the long post I must be on a caffeine high.
5/5 and 10/10 for a great (first version) game.

I usually dont end up playing games on NG for hours on end, but I just had to keep playing this one! Definitely the best game Ive played on here. It very much reminds me of FFVII. I call this an instant classic!
Cant wait for Sonny 2!

Great game, but

I don't think I need to repeat the sentiments already stated here, but I am having my own trouble on the second boss in Stage 4. The first one died without too much trouble, the second one has proved to be quite a bit more painful.

This damn samurai has 320000 life, an absolute horror to fight if it weren't for the addition of his weakness. Very often, he'll do his own version of zombie berserk which, for one round, seems to make all his attacks an instant killshot. During this buff, however, all attacks against him do huge amounts of damage. My assassin teammate actually managed to get a 20k hit on him during a speed buff. Of course, the downside is that you are pretty much guaranteed to lose one of your teammates.

To fix this, I changed my spec to get the frost stun spell, and stunned him every time he tried this, which seems to be the intended and, probably, the ONLY method to beat him. What I can't figure out is his STUPID way of suddenly getting two attacks in at the same time, berserking then one shotting someone on my team, leaving me no chance to stun him or even take advantage of the boosted damage.

Is this intended? Is there some workaround? Are his attacks a certain element I can resist or something? Any help at all?

Otherwise, good game.

Krinn responds:

A team gets a double move if the team's average speed is suddenly higher than the other one's. This can happen if Amber uses Shadow Blend, putting your average Speed higher, then it wears off, etc. Good choice with the stunning, although "Break" works well too.

You should get full Paladin gear for Veradux and set him on "Attack". His Poisons will crit 30k + on that loser :D
