UDPATE (NOW LIVE!) Game has been patched according to user suggestions:

- Battles now run significantly faster.
- Block can only be used twice on your bar, but the cool down has been decreased.
- Paladin's Shield now has a much longer cool down.
- Rock Golems can no longer use Suppression. Health decreased, damage increased.
- Blade Shaman's heals now have a larger cool down, and he can no longer regen focus.
- All the audio is now in sync with the subtitles.
- You can now Re-Spec 5 times a day instead of once.
- Veradux's "Re-Energize" ability now only applies a buff that restores 10 focus per turn, so when he casts it on a target with full focus, you still get 90% of the benefit.

Noted Criticism (But will not be updated for Sonny):

- More sound controls
- Manual control over AI
- Item bug in inventory
- Smarter AI
- More animation variety
- Better storyline
- Non linear gameplay
- Better Cutscenes
- Better AI

I have only one complaint...

Is it just me, or, is the Paladin too hard to kill? I mean, the Baron before him had almost no focus, and the Paladin had omgwtfgodly focus. I don't know about you, but, was this meant to be impossible?. At first I was saying "This will be easy..he has nowhere near the same health as the guy before him". However, I saw his heal and I was like "There is no way I'm gonna win this" Also, I found his focus went down, the damage he did slowly went up. Is this a bug, or is it just me? Nevertheless, this game is one of the best games I have seen on Newgrounds in quite some time. However, in the new version, could you cut back on his focus? He could just keep on healing himself, and I think I speak for most of the players, (I'm sure quite a few of you have beaten him!) that you cannot kill somethat that has a 1700+ heal every 4 or 5 turns. Granted, his focus did take a hit, but by the time it was low enough for me to fight back, I was dead or too close to it to do anything. Just something I'd like to point out, I'm sure there's a way, but, I just can't find it.

Krinn responds:

You are supposed to damage through his healing. Read it as: 5000 HP. I'm sure you can handle it!

Working as intended! :D

great job

first of all, 10/10. fantastic job, probably the best flash rpg i have ever played, it just had a depth that most others lack. the weapons available to buy were varied and interesting, the amount of slots for equipment was good, and the entire thing (battles especially) was superbly animated and clean. some people seem to have a problem with the ally AI, but i found it to be completely satisfactory, and i liked how you could set it to aggressive tactical or defensive.

Sonny did not keep pace with the enemies when it came to damage. most of the time with rpg's the protagonist has lower hp than the enemies, but has much higher attack power. while this was true to an extent, it did not keep up to the enemies hp very well and it ended up making a lot of the battles later on in the game extremely long and tedious, especially vs multiple enemies. the enemies heal themselves for too much hp and too often, and this drags them out even longer. i eventually quit because the battles were taking way too long and i got bored. it was also quite frustrating to level up and then only have 1 ability point to distrubute when there is that gigantic tree to fill out. i had barely gotten magic bolt maxed out when i quit.

hope you found my review helpful! great game, keep it up.

liked it very much

i like the game kept me entertained for a while but once i got to the ghost samurais i couldnt even win anymore!you should take off the samurais healing ability its a really big problem!oh and its void ability when it uses it twice on me the time it wears off doesnt go up instead another void appears and doubles the damage it absolutely hard!and more skill points and atribute points when you lvl up plz because without more skill points and atribute points it makes the game really hard atleast make the points 2 or 3 with every lvl up!the triple battles are really hard cuz you dont have a partner and you get one at zone 4...dont you think the players dont complain about it?and make sonny a bit stronger because hes really weak at first and still weak...the ghost samurai totally owned me and add more equip slots like trinkets necklaces and rings that make u stronger!and really should be some potions!no rpg games good without potions!dont forget the potions everything goes great with potions!yay potions! and you should give sonny head slots!plz end of review
P.S.reply to this ok?
P.S.S.try to add the things i said into the game in future updates
P.S.S.S.make the enemys a bit easier and take out the samurais healing ability
P.S.S.S.S.sorry for the long review!

Good stuff

I love the game but when i first played it i was surprised. I thought it would be like sinjid where you can walk around and talk to people and what not. I do have a few suggestions. First each of the area should have its own music. Second each class should have i couple of skills that only they can have. Third if you have a full armor set on you should get some kind of bonuses. Fouth there should alot more items and alot more monster types. And finally the whole game should be alot longer.

I enjoyed the game throughly, but its really annoying, I've fought Sensei Ishiguro
more than 3 times and he regenerates 300-500 HP everytime.
