UDPATE (NOW LIVE!) Game has been patched according to user suggestions:

- Battles now run significantly faster.
- Block can only be used twice on your bar, but the cool down has been decreased.
- Paladin's Shield now has a much longer cool down.
- Rock Golems can no longer use Suppression. Health decreased, damage increased.
- Blade Shaman's heals now have a larger cool down, and he can no longer regen focus.
- All the audio is now in sync with the subtitles.
- You can now Re-Spec 5 times a day instead of once.
- Veradux's "Re-Energize" ability now only applies a buff that restores 10 focus per turn, so when he casts it on a target with full focus, you still get 90% of the benefit.

Noted Criticism (But will not be updated for Sonny):

- More sound controls
- Manual control over AI
- Item bug in inventory
- Smarter AI
- More animation variety
- Better storyline
- Non linear gameplay
- Better Cutscenes
- Better AI

Awesome stuff!

I started playing this game yesterday at 7pm, i played till 1am :S haha.
And now im back again to probably play til 1am again at this rate.
I keep making new chars and using different moves to figure out which
character and build i think would beat the game.

After my first hour of playing it suddenly hit me that this game was like another
ive played - Sinjid, it had the same feel and the way the characters are drawn is
near enough the same and then i checked your profile and BAM author of sinjid haha. Anyway ALL MY 5 R BELONG TO THIS. I'm gonna keep playing and i look forward to your future work.

Tough Boss

I am struggling with the first boss in the valley of illusions. Sure I* can block when he attacks me with "fate", but I can only block for 2 turns. After that, he will attack me again in less than 3 turns with the same trick and I always end of dying. Also, even if I shield my teammates before they are hit by "fate", the magic can still get them and they will die after 1 turn. Is there a way that I can win the battle? Please tell me!

Great game, but I'm stuck on the uber Zombie of Doom in the Shaman Place. Its just about impossible for me to level anymore, the training fights give me 0% experience. Any hints?

RPG combat rises from the grave!

I've been playing Sonny for a couple days, and it's definitely my favorite of the games I've played at NG so far. The simplicity of the interface is a definite plus, though there are a few minor issues that don't detract from my enjoyment of the game.

The Good:
1.) The music is of excellent quality and quite catchy.
2.) Colorful and vibrant graphics.
3.) Easy-to-use interface.
4.) Ally AI is quite good. So far Veradux has behaved almost exactly as I would have used him if I could control his every action. He heals at the right times, uses buffs at the right times and usually attacks the proper target.

The (Not So) Bad (these are the minor issues I mentioned):
1.) Enemy AI. This is not the same complaint as others have made. I'm in the third area, and my companion, Veradux, is a fist magnet. He takes at least 75% of the enemy's attacks. If the enemies are going to be smart enough to concentrate their strength on the healer, there should be an option for Sonny to protect Veradux, like a "row" or "defend ally" ability. Veradux should not be taking so many attacks, especially since he should be standing behind Sonny.

2.) Changing equipment while in the shops. You can change Sonny's equipment, but not your ally's, and if you click over to the Inventory from the shop, you have to back out to the area map before returning to the shop.

So far I have only tried one spec/build/class, and I'm interested in exploring the other options. This game definitely has replay value. I'm giving a solid and well-earned 8 stars out of 10, though if I could I'd actually give 8.5. The score would be even higher if it included other traditional RPG elements, such as exploration and puzzle solving. For a pure combat game, Sonny rocks!
