Train Math Problems Suck

Share Collapse

Author Comments

This is my first flash animation I've ever submitted, I might work on it, add sound, ect, but i have a short personal time schedule. *

I Hate Math problems where you have to figure out How long it takes for trains to get to locations, meet each other, collide, or catch up with the other train. So i made this little interactive flash to retaliate against these stupid math problems. You can do two things, figure out the math, or do what i do, and say screw it i wanna see some trains blow up.

The math is not wrong, it might be rounded up or down a little but it is pretty correct.

this might help.

Train A
1/3 (20 minutes) of the first hour is spent traveling 30 miles per hour

2/3 (40 minutes) is spent traveling 275 miles per hour

Train B

1/4 (15 minutes) of the first hour is spent traveling 45 miles per hour

Slight mathematical or grammatical error

If they crash the distance between the trains have to be zero.

Otherwise, the animation of the crash need some work, and most of all sound. You should seriously rethink the whole idea, fix how you worded the problem and up the animation quite a bit.

YamiTakashi responds:

1/3 (20 minutes) of the first hour is spent traveling 30 miles per hour = 10 miles

2/3 is spent traveling 275 miles per hour = 183.33

Train A moves 193.33 miles the first hour and then another 275 miles the next

This gives train A a total of 468.33 miles it has ran between both stations.

this leaves 212.67 miles between both trains.

Wha... Huh?

Why did you even submit this? The math problem was poorly writen, the animation was non-exsistant. The only plus I could give you is the drawing of the trains in a crashed heap was fairly well done, just shame you decided not to animated it in any way.

..... :P

ok.... that wasnt good but the crash had sum good styled animation n1...... i guess

Cute short

I did the math right, and your answer is wrong. Nice explosion though, and that's what counts.
A grammar issue with your/you're and thats about all.
