IMPORTANT: This is a rather different version of Chapter 2!
The original was released in 2007, but this version was uploaded in 2010. It's basically a 'remake' in many ways, though the plot and events are generally the same.

Unfortunately, your saves from the old version won't work due to the drastic differences behind the scenes, but there are enough differences, I hope, to make replaying worthwhile. Any saves you make in this version can carry over to later chapters properly.

EDIT (21st of August 2010): Sorry, there'd been bugs with this version for a long time! It's because I fixed the bugs on Kongregate and updated the version there, but didn't do so here... Now I have though, so hopefully all problems will be fixed.

Oh, but PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE make sure you have an appropriate Flash Player version! There's a screen at the start that warns you if your version is outdated. If this screen appears *at all*, then you may (probably will) experience some bizarre saving problems. Updating your Flash Player prevents them.

Right before I fought the Heroes the game went black, with only the sprites visible.

I fought and beat them, but it didn't fix it, so I just couldn't leave

Great RPG

If you type get all and you don't have at least 1 of the item in your inventory then it will not take it, that is why you did not get a phoenix down, StreakXD. You are probably right that this game is too complex for Flash to run well.

It took me 6 hours to beat. x.x

I didn't crash once, but my computer is fairly good.
If it helps any, I used Opera, on low quality.

I did encounter a glitch, though.
I beat a boss, and got a phoenix down and some gold.
I pressed the Take All button.
I got the gold, but the Phoenix down disappeared, I never got it.

Graphics were pretty flawless.
I loved the music, and it always seemed to fit.
The storyline is getting very devloped, I love it. =D
The NPCs were...amusing, to say the least.

Now to sit down and wait for chapter 3.

(Keep it up! =D)

wow, first off, i just wanna say, tally-ho and forsooth! But other than that I need tips on how to beat the bandit chief. He gets 2 attacks! its not fair. And i totally agree with chubbthehippo *sarcasm* on the fact that games are always better when you dont have to do anything. "plz let me go immediately to lvl 100 with 1 billion gold and 0 deaths." But anyway, i need tips on beating the bandit chief.

I hate to waste my review for this, but...

... I HATE HATE HATE bugs. This game crashed for me TWICE in 20 minutes, and it not only crashed the game, but crashed Firefox, which closed normally, but would not open again without ending the process via task manager. So here's the skinny: I was in the caves trolling around around the healing crystal right after letting the bandit, Gope, leave with his limbs still attached. The first time it crashed, Deugan was getting hit by a drillion with the attack that makes him lose defense. The second time, Deugan was hitting one of those virus looking things that casts barrier with his +50% damage attack. Both times, as soon as the numbers popped up, the game froze. A few seconds later (I may have clicked or pressed a button, not sure), the next frame was successfully rendered, but the game was clearly crashed at that point. The first time, I waited a moment to see if it was just uber-lagged, but this was not the case.

Like I said, I use firefox, and I haven't yet tried it with IE. I'm on a Dell Inspiron 1000 laptop, purchased in 2005, running windows XP, but I don't know the technical specs offhand. The only other programs open were the other Firefox window (I ran the game in a pop-up) and Winamp. I have the latest version of Flash, I'm pretty certain.

I would take a gander at the actionscript running during attack animations. I'll try to run the game with Internet Explorer, but if it doesn't load my saved game for whatever reason, I'm giving up. If I do try it, I'll let you know via PM how it works out.

Aside from the crashing, this is really great! My policy for fatal bugs is to cut my review score in half, but refrain from voting until its problems are addressed. So fix this bug so I can enjoy this! Please!
