EDIT 10 (4/3/08): Many people have reported a bizarre save-related bug where, if they load their game, they appear to be in a green/black 'void', where the sprites are visible but the background tiles aren't.
For ages I just assumed this to be specific to peoples' computers or something, since I'd never encountered it myself, but just recently I found out what causes it!
It happens when you save while standing between tiles. Whenever you walk in a direction, you move one 'tile', and only ever stop in the middle of tiles. Which is why just tapping a direction button will move you a considerable distance. However, apparently you can open the menu before you complete a move between tiles, and if you save like that, your location will get stored as a fraction value, which buggers up the rest of the map when loading.
...Anyway, to prevent this, just wait until your party has stopped moving instead of being impatient and opening the menu in the middle of walking!
I'll fix the bug so it CAN'T happen in an update sometime.

EDIT 9: v1.2.0911 fixes the Smite I bug with Vehrn and the bug that causes all your inventory slots to be filled with instances of a single item when you load a game from Chapter 1.

EDIT 8: v1.2.0910 is the latest version, which should fix an odd bug that arose in the last update that causes monsters to sometimes be 'undefined'...

EDIT 7: Fixed a bug which prevented you from using the Switch button thing. (Will Newgrounds be annoyed at me making these constant re-uploads?!)

EDIT 6: More bug fixes. The latest version is v1.2.0909 (it may take some time for Newgrounds to update the file).
This version fixes all of the bugs that people have reported, I think!

If you have any questions or problems relating to this game, join my forum at http://forum.fighunter.co m! Most common problems have probably been addressed extensively in threads there already, but you can join and start a new thread to ask whatever you want!
Or to discuss your thoughts or theories relating to the current or future chapters of MARDEK with other fans of the series. That's always interesting!

At long last! After many annoying delays, the second chapter of MARDEK is released! Huzzah!

If you've not played the first one, I recommend that you find it and do so, or else parts of this may not make sense.

There are many improvements in this chapter, and it's much, MUCH longer. The first chapter only served as a short introduction, but this is a full-length RPG (I'd say there are about '10 hours' of gameplay, but it all depends on the player).
This game is STORY-DRIVEN, though; the action is there to support the story, not the other way around. There's a LOT of dialogue! I'm aware some of you don't like reading and would rather just mindlessly kill things, but... well, thinking should be more encouraged or something?!

All the content in this game (except the sound effects) is by me.
I did all the coding, drew all the graphics, animated all the animations, and composed all the music.

Since this is the initial public release, there may still be some bugs in there somewhere. If you find any, please report them to me so then I can fix them!

Also, this game is probably somewhat challenging. If you can't beat a boss or something, that doesn't mean the game is flawed; it means that you're an inept player, whether you're too arrogant to accept that or not.

OMG awsome! I have never played played a game like this ever before...

By the time I finished writing this, it was about two days after I finished the Mardek Chapter 1. At first, Ater finisheing the first one, it was about 10 'o' clock at night. The first Mardek only took me about 45mins the complete, so I thought
"Hey! I must still have time to do the second chapter!"
So I went on to the second page, and stopped in my tracks at the sight of
'10 hours of gameplay!'

Actually it took me 9 hours 48mins, STRAIGHT! But yeah, close enough. It took me a day. Anyway, on with the review.

At first, I though it would be like the first game, with only Mardek and Deugan, but then at the first boss, the theif guy, it actually kinda amazed me at the sight of a party of 4. I mean, WOW! I get four guys and he's only got 1! HA HA! But then he shot me with his handgun :(

Also, further on in the game, in the lake, it was kinda weird with the hag. She real ugly maaan.

Furthermore, in the catacombs, the maze was really kinda difficult. I mean HARD!
Nah not really! The map seriously helped me out. Especially with the hidden chests. And the hidden paths. LOL.

And, in the battleship, the sercurity orbs were really anoyying. There were just Toooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo oooooooooooooooooooo many sercurity orbs. Wayy too many maan. Also, I was super duper uber mega annoyed with the entry into the second floor. At first, I couldn't find my way in, execpt for the path north of the landing room with the door thing. I thought, I had to shut down the power crystals or something to get through, but it didn't work. So I tried killing ever single little servitor (little bastards). UNTIL I discovered there was a path to the south of the escape hatch. RARGHHHHGHHGBYVFTbuhsdcgfnseuioxdnhfm x,osdkfjxseuifnmhxodjfo!!!!!!!!!!1111 !!!!1!!11!11!1!1111!! I was really pissed off.

Anyway, I really didn't see it coming when Moric went into Social Fox's body. Ergh.

Conclusion:
Very good. Keep up the good work when your making the third one. Don't rush it! Also, I never hired the mercenary, what's he like? Also, what did the girl (sorry I've forgot her name) do that doomed Belfain (but Mardek saved) anyway? Will it be revealed later on? And what about the temple in Lake Qur? And also NOOOOOOOOOOO DEUGAN! Nah I never liked him anyway. I bet he comes back though. it didn't show what happened to him facing off with the thing. And he was in the introduction from the first game, so yeah.

Also, do the guys have hair, I mean they wear hoods all the time so we never see.

Thus my review comes to an end. Keep up the good work, don't rush the third game as I said, yeah keep up the good work.
