* For all of the frustrated ones: there's a video walkthrough thread at We Create Stuff > Portal: TFV's forum, and some community help. Good luck :)

We started working on this project a couple of months ago, and now, it is finally done. Lately we've been working on this project none stop, acknowledging if we release it after the real Portal - we fail, and our test will be terminated ( ;). So yes, the last piece of code of this game was programed just a couple of minutes ago. Don't worry - those minutes were on bugs!

Portal: The Flash Version includes over 40 challenging, portals thinking levels, which features almost every feature the real game does, in 2d - energy balls, cubes, turrets and even the famous crusher from the trailer. The game also includes a console to mess around with after finishing the game, or just being frustrated by thinking with portals (Commands are posted in our forums)

Left mouse button - launch a portal.
A W D - movement
Q - launch a blue portal.
E - launch a yellow portal.
R - Close both portals.
F - pick up an object.
~ - open up console (enable through the options)
O - quick quality adjust.
Esc/P - pause game.

Version history:

The game really is heavy on levels 30 and up. We did our best to optimize it, but if you still have a low frame rate simply change your quality and effect settings.

If you find any bugs, please report.

Now this is what i call a flash game.

I always wanted to play Portal, but didn't have the game, and coudn't find it either. But this could even satisfy those who want the game but don't have it. 2-D gives a whole new feeling to the idea, as if this game is a prequel to the actual game. I just completed all 40 levels, and it took me half a day of thinking to do so. The graphics were simple and effective, and everything had the 'feel' that portal has.

I encountered some glitches, sometimes cubes teleported to there starting position, and once so did my character. The cause for my characters teleport was a portal facing the wrong way on the wall, but the cubes i cannot seem to find why.

And now for the improvments, not that this game isn't one of the best flash games of played, but there is always room for improvement in anything. I was expecting, the game being a flash version of portal, that after the 40 stages i would leave the 'safe area' and go though machinery to reach GLADOS (i don't know how to type it right, just stick with GLADOS). When it wasn't there i was slightly disapointed, but this game is to good to say anything worse, i could come back tommrow and enjoy all the elvels again. Even without the 2nd part of the original game, the flash version has stretched the 1st part, and it works well. Most games in chambers get boring after the 30-or-so level, but this game doe's not get boring, and always provides a challenge. Just like the game it is based on, it makes you think outside the box.

One of the best flash games i have played.

P.S: I was also expecting a pit to suddenly kill me when i ran for the cake. When it didn't, i was happy. The cake wasn't a lie! Hoorah! =D

Where would NG be without armorgames?

Many great games on here come from armorgames.
This is no exception.
