EDIT 3* Hahah. Woo hoo. Thanks Tom, I think, for putting this is in the serious shorts section. Great! :) Also, for some time now I've been trying to bump the score up to a 4.00 and it just hasnt been working, but its finally there thanks to you guys :0
EDIT 2*I would like to say to all who have appreciated this work: Thank you so much! The audience of this piece is unbelievably suprising. Hmm. Oh ya I would also ask if some of you guys could suggest this to the noir section or mabey serious shorts. mabey together we can get it in, i dunno. thanks alot! :)
EDIT 1*Front page! I love newgrounds! Thank you so much for your support! Also thanks to all who tried desperatly to discover the meaning behind this animation! It makes me feel good! :)*
I planned this one out pretty graphicly in my mind. I had planned the elevator scene before I even started working on scene one. So after about 7 months of off and on work, its done. For this guy, I focused on high contrast and extreme saturation as well as no saturation at all. I also focused on the theme, which may be hard-core invisible to you guys, but I would love to see some reviews which try to guess the moral of the story, so to speak. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

Great experimental piece!
It's great to see some serious experimental pieces here. I thought you did a good job with the use of sound effects and the color scheme used. There could either be a lot of symbolism or none at all depending on how you look at it, but it definitely made me think. Loved it.

I quite liked it
I thought this was quite a good piece. The basic feeling I got from this was how when one turns their back on their beliefs, they more or less become an 'animal' with no sense of higher purpose. I almost got the feeling of an internment camp from the boat scene, perhaps the separation among a crowd as well. When the man walks away from the cross, it's almost as if the cross itself it turning it's back on him, rather than the other way around. The man, after losing all faith, commits suicide, for he has lost himself completely, become the animal. I especially liked how it seems that the scenes of faith one sees are more like remembrances seen through the eyes of a man already complete disillusioned by whatever life has brought him, rather than a recitation of his life. This is all obviously speculation, but what I got out of it, and I quite liked it. Well done.

Huh... Deep
Well this is my guese, the reason the tittle is named animals is because the people are being caged like animals, or something, this flash confuses me.

Too implicit for me to get it
But as for what I understand, the title "Animals" have nothing to do with the flash?
Anyway, the old man was once a preacher, then he started losing his religion then committed suicide?
Man, this flash puzzles me.

Ahhh
It's really a relief to get a nice, fresh breath of air from a flash animation like this. I mean, there really is some horrible stuff out there that makes you just feel stupider for watching it. This was fantastic, in every single way.
As for the meaning, I'm guessing you have some sort of contempt for Christianity. Such dark and menacing colors as red and black don't strike me as a positive mood for the subject. The slope carrying thing, (i don't know what they're called, I've never been skiing,) is people trying to get to heaven, or the top of the mountain. I dunno I'd have to watch it a few more times to really get it and come up with a good idea.
Another thing, what's the point of having a metaphore or some kinda message if people can't get it? Do you just like being smug knowing that you created something people can't understand?
I'm a Christian and I love Jesus. Does that suprise you? :p Oh and yur question about if i like to make people confused....yes. :)
