This is for my Art major work, the idea is about a year in the making and the movie itself took about six weeks to create. Being for school there was a lot of restrictions on this movie, I would have made it quite longer with the story more thoroughly explained too.

The computer virus Spyware has almost completely destroyed technology as we know it, so as a last resort Computer technician Dren has built a machine that will allow him to personally confront the entity...

(EDIT 1):
Thank you everyone for the Daily 3rd! =D

I would like to announce that there will be a sequel, this time no restrictions so I'm open to suggestions. Hopefully to be released next year, Spyware 2: The Code War.

(EDIT 2):
Well, Spyware did incredibly well in RL, having got into the Art Gallery exhibition for the best School Art Projects in the state! :O and will be on tour all around the state (NSW) for 2008.

Blimey!

From reading the summary, it sounded interesting, but it just turned out to be a ripoff of Animator vs. Animation. The voiceacting was nerve-wracking; the voice explaining the story in the beginning got to be so bad I almost closed out, and the voices in-movie weren't much better. The plot isn't exactly something brand-new, either. Only good thing was the way Spyware was drawn. Sorry, but I didn't like it.

Author's Response:

Are you on drugs? This is in no way even possibly a ripoff of animator vs animation, the only thing they have in common is a little desktop destruction at the end, which is something that's been around for a long time even before it was adopted by animator vs animation.

As a (unemployed) Computer Technician, I can say that a situation like this - while not likely in the very near future - would be terrifying! It would, by the time it's fully possible, truly cripple the planet. Basically, Terminator-style (T3 showing the best example). Even if the AI's don't intentionally start wars, they could happen anyway, out of panic. Or, accidental launches of nuclear weapons, accidental meltdowns at nuclear power plants, due to local (as in, at the silo or at the Plant) infection. Even without catastrophies like that, you still have things like the collapse of commerce, stock trading, loss of bank records, things like that. The end result would be global chaos, revolutions, depressions, and really, a new "Dark Age." A VERY scary thought, indeed!
