'Enter The X'

This is the first in the 'Enter' series to contain audible dialogue. This one is abotu Z, Veron, and Tergon getting stranded on an island and finding a bottle containing the djinn, The X!

Audio by smartpoetic (Audio Portal), SFX and other sound effects from sounddogs.com and other websites I believe.

Enjoy!

It's not a bad little script, but it could use some work on the animation side of things. Perhaps paying more attention to the smashing glass noise would mean that it's cut to the right time scale for what you were after - yours was about 3 times too long, I'm afraid.

With the animation, perhaps you could have done a little more with the background, something like putting a sky in there and making it look like the camera is closer to level with them, maybe keeping the angle slightly above the horizontal, so you don't go completely the other way for the blue / wood background. Where do you go that the sand is that colour? I might fancy a holiday out that way...

The plot could have used more exposition - have the guys crash on the island in a charter flight, for example, so they are castaways. Then show us what was happening to the one crushed under women - perhaps screaming women would throw themselves at him and even if you make them look like blow up dolls, you've got a decent joke. Something similar with the money, but this one seems more difficult, so good luck.

Finally, when X is shot, don't take part of the scenery with you - it doesn't work ;)

The scenery was acciden... I mean, it was artistic.

You still need some work, but it's getting better.

Its the little things that you hope people won't notice that people do notice and blam you for it.

For example, when X falls down the trees fall with him.

But i liked it better than enter furgeson. Keep it up :D

Maybe I just don't like your style of animation or maybe you just aren't that good in Flash, but there was little to no humor involved and the ending was too abrupt to appreciate. Basically, the problems aren't in as much in the animation as it is in the writing. Develop better script or at least provide some humor that isn't so crappy.

Blammed.

"Ouch...."

What happened to the guy who wanted to be the most handsome guy in the world? And what the hell happened to the X-shaped genie? Did the guy who wasn't crushed by a gigantic block with the label, "one-million-dollars, get over it" kill the genie or was there some kind of space-time eversion that created a gap in the MOST HORRIBLY CONCEIVED STORY PLOT EVER?!?

It was good until that random crap started happening. If I have one piece of advice it's you got to let people know what happens to characters, no matter how unimportant or superficial. If you want them gone with no intention of allowing the viewer the benefit of the doubt then don't show them to begin with.

And the glass crashing sound was a bit overdone. I'd hardly think that a little bottle no bigger than my fist would sound like a window that fell out of the Sear's Tower that fell onto a truck filled with china.

You gotta fix the holes man.... Fix the holes, fix your flash. And use sounds that aren't over the top. It's about visual/audio sync, not just flash.

Author's Response:

Sorry, but my program started running really slowly near the end, and I couldnt even move stuff, so I couldnt finish it proeprly. Veron (the bat guy) sot the X shaped genie at the end. I explained waht happened to Tergon, he got buried in all teh women in the world, and Z got crushed by 1 million dollars.

thanks for teh review
