Wow, lots of frame by frame in this one.
This is my entry for the Toronto Urban Film Festival, basically, the winners they choose play on big screens in the subways for a week, and you can win iPods and trips to Jamaica and stuff like that. So since I live in Toronto, I felt like making something. I chose the category "forgotten places, uncommon spaces" and hopefully I've lived up to the theme relatively well. As always, I'll respond to everyone's reviews.
As I said earlier, this animation is mostly frame by frame. it takes lots of time, especially at 30 frames per second, which this ran at. some tweening involved as well, mostly for the backgrounds, and I think the combination of both worked fairly nicely.
When I decided the the theme I'd be working on, this was the first idea that came to mind, a building being slowly brought back to the roots, infested by growth, hidden to the urbanities who overlook such detail. I like how it turned out. If you don't, or in-fact, if you do as well, review. I love hearing from people who look at things I do. Its nice to know people care.
Lastly, thanks to David Firth, doki, for the fantastic loop. It's incredibly fitting for this animation, and lovely and tranquil to just sit around and listen to. If you're reading this doki, you're a really talented artist, both musically and visually.
1824 frames, 30 per second, 60.8 seconds. And Im sure none of you really care. 33 symbols as well.
Enjoy the show.
