Woogi World Fun games for kids, based on the characters of Woogi World!

Author Comments

When Stigg's class held a Health Fair, most of the kids brought healthy foods or exercise equipment. But not Stigg-- he brought free cake instead! Everyone knows cake isn't good for you, but it sure draws a crowd. Fortunately, Stigg has a secret weapon... the Veggie-Matic!

As you've probably guessed, this game is my entry to the Wiggi World contest! That means it's designed for kids aged 5-12. It needs to be clean, there needs to be a reasonably finite ammount of play-time, the first level needs to be do-able by tiny human-larve with developing reflexes, etc. etc. I tried to make the game as fun as I could, given these requirements.

I've written a lot of Flash reviews here at Newgrounds, but this is my first submission. Feel free to rip it apart-- I thrive on criticism. :)

Oh, also, I'd like to thank Erica Mendez and ShockDingo from the Voice Actors Alliance. I'm sorry I don't have a website for either of them but they can be reached at the VAA forum. Both of them came to my aid with auditions even though I posted with a ridiculously short deadline, and even better, they both managed to really nail the voices of characters I'd made up in my own head!

Edit: Woo-hoo! Daily 5th and Front Page? Thanks, guys! :D

Edit: Wow. It won. Just WOW. I mean, I hoped it would, and I did my best, but... WOW! :D

Contest Winner - At least it should be

The voice acting was great; I thought it was professional at first, perhaps taken from an outside source. The animation was very smooth and crisp.

The only problems I had were level 6+ ramped up WAY too quickly, and, of course, the gameplay was very repetitive. But then, I'm not 5-12.

All in all, you did a great job, even though the message was a little hackneyed and...um...other negative adjective.

Oh, I can assure you, the voice definitely IS professional voice acting. It was done by Erica Mendez and ShockDingo from the Voice Acting Alliance forums. You should definitely google the VAA if you need voice acting for any Flash projects. Please be polite, and take the time to learn their system of doing things, and I'm sure someone there will be able to provide you with results like these.

Repetitive gameplay stages 6+, I can understand. The difficulty ramping up too quickly, is kind of a surprise to me. The only real difference between 7 and 9 is the speed at which enemies run. Stage 6 always seems like such a bear, but actually there's 15 enemies on-screen at once that take 3 hits each, so it's not much different from Stage 4, which featured 4 enemies at once that took 3 hits each. It's just the large groups that make it seem a lot more challenging than it actually is.

As for the message, in the contest rules it said that games would be judged more favorably if they had a message. So as you mgiht immagine, I and everyone else who entered the contest, put a cheesy message in. I just did my best to have fun with it, and I think that helped a lot. :)

This is funny :P

I would definitely allow my kids to play this game. Every game on Newgrounds is usually Blood, Gore and Puzzles. This was fun and really has a morel to eat. GJ!

Hey, thanks. :) I'm glad you liked it.

If you have kids, though, and you're the over-protective type, I'd recommend you wait until this game gets up on Wiggi World (or Woogi World or whatever they end up calling the website) and NOT show them the Newgrounds version. I guaruntee you, kids of any age are curious, and they're smart enough to remember the newgrounds.com url and go exploring later.

Of course, someday they're bound to stumble across it sooner or later, and you can't hold their hands all the time forever, but yeah. Not exposing them to Newgrounds yourself is probably a good way to stave off the inevitable loss of innocence so many parents worry about.

If it makes you feel any better, the dude who invented this site was creating violent, bloody games at the age of 15, and he turned out okay. He's got a great job he loves, he's surrounded by friends, has a lovely wife, and by all accounts seems pretty polite and well-adjusted fellow.

Now, all that said, I was DEFNITELY trying to make a cute, fun game that responsible parents wouldn't feel worried about, so I'm glad I achieved that objective. Thanks for your feedback. :)

Glad you liked it! :) Sorry the ending wasn't better. It was the best animation I could do in one day. If you have suggestions on what could have made it better, IM me about it. I'm always looking for ways to improve my craft (even though it's too late to make changes to THIS submission.)

Well i know i wasnt there.

Because if some dude shot vegis at me id whip hes ass, take the cake, and then realize the cake is fake.

WarpZone responds:

Yeah, I'm sure you were the toughest 5-year-old on the playground.

Great.

It got a little repetitive... But I got through it. My hand hurts.

Good job, though simple.

Ouch, sorry about the hand! You shoudl try playtesting it for 10 days in a row, I almost blistered my clicker-finger. :P

Glad you liked it, though. :)
