Woogi World Fun games for kids, based on the characters of Woogi World!

Author Comments

When Stigg's class held a Health Fair, most of the kids brought healthy foods or exercise equipment. But not Stigg-- he brought free cake instead! Everyone knows cake isn't good for you, but it sure draws a crowd. Fortunately, Stigg has a secret weapon... the Veggie-Matic!

As you've probably guessed, this game is my entry to the Wiggi World contest! That means it's designed for kids aged 5-12. It needs to be clean, there needs to be a reasonably finite ammount of play-time, the first level needs to be do-able by tiny human-larve with developing reflexes, etc. etc. I tried to make the game as fun as I could, given these requirements.

I've written a lot of Flash reviews here at Newgrounds, but this is my first submission. Feel free to rip it apart-- I thrive on criticism. :)

Oh, also, I'd like to thank Erica Mendez and ShockDingo from the Voice Actors Alliance. I'm sorry I don't have a website for either of them but they can be reached at the VAA forum. Both of them came to my aid with auditions even though I posted with a ridiculously short deadline, and even better, they both managed to really nail the voices of characters I'd made up in my own head!

Edit: Woo-hoo! Daily 5th and Front Page? Thanks, guys! :D

Edit: Wow. It won. Just WOW. I mean, I hoped it would, and I did my best, but... WOW! :D

easy peasy

Got to the end real easy... all I did was use my left hand to control the clicks with 2 fingers and my right hand to aim.

Wiggiworld games seem highly addictive even though they are meant for kids. Excellent work!

If you want more of a challenge, I dare you to try it with a laptop mousepad. :)

Wow

This game was so fun I was actually laughing out loud giddilly from the excitement and the little guy saying "Eat your Veggies!"

I think you did a great job at making this game easy to learn, impressive graphics, and your balancing of difficulty is a great solution to the 6-12 yr old dilemma.

The story was delightfully ridiculous too, I think the kids are gonna love it.

Really superb job!

Awww my hand! NO AUTOFIRE?!

seriously... I killed 1494 of them, and my hand (and mouse) would simply love autofire...

...lot's of laughs!

Yes, I know autofire sounds nice on paper, but when I tried that, everyone's score was almost exactly the same. It turns out the most challenging part of the game is physical stamina. My advice is to take it easy until you really NEED to push through a big mob of hungry wiggis.

Pretty good

I thought it was pretty entertaining considering the gameplay it offered. The only thing that didn't make much sense to me was why the enemies that required multiple shots to take down didn't offer as many points respective to the amount of shots needed. It would make more sense to me that harder enemies would offer more of a reward.

Hmmm. You know, that's actually a very good point.

I guess I would argue that the score is based on the number of bellies you fill, not the number of vegetables you serve. :) That's kind of a cop-out, though. The real reason is, it just didn't occur to me.

It's too late to change my entry now, though, so I'll just have to file that thought away for consideration when developing future games. Thanks for bringing it up, though, and I'm glad you enjoyed the game anyway.

In the grand scheme of things, the main difference you're going to see between players' scores is based on how fast they click, not which kids spawn. 1200 is a pretty big sample size when you're talking about purely random results. If redheads are worth less per veggie, or swarms are worth more per spawn, it should average out.

That said, no one likes to feel cheated. I wish I'd thought of it.

Thansk for the feedback. :)
