Woogi World Fun games for kids, based on the characters of Woogi World!
Author Comments
When Stigg's class held a Health Fair, most of the kids brought healthy foods or exercise equipment. But not Stigg-- he brought free cake instead! Everyone knows cake isn't good for you, but it sure draws a crowd. Fortunately, Stigg has a secret weapon... the Veggie-Matic!
As you've probably guessed, this game is my entry to the Wiggi World contest! That means it's designed for kids aged 5-12. It needs to be clean, there needs to be a reasonably finite ammount of play-time, the first level needs to be do-able by tiny human-larve with developing reflexes, etc. etc. I tried to make the game as fun as I could, given these requirements.
I've written a lot of Flash reviews here at Newgrounds, but this is my first submission. Feel free to rip it apart-- I thrive on criticism. :)
Oh, also, I'd like to thank Erica Mendez and ShockDingo from the Voice Actors Alliance. I'm sorry I don't have a website for either of them but they can be reached at the VAA forum. Both of them came to my aid with auditions even though I posted with a ridiculously short deadline, and even better, they both managed to really nail the voices of characters I'd made up in my own head!
Edit: Woo-hoo! Daily 5th and Front Page? Thanks, guys! :D
Edit: Wow. It won. Just WOW. I mean, I hoped it would, and I did my best, but... WOW! :D

10 levels of joy
I got kinda tired at level 6 and the boss was kinda frustrating.
overall good game 5/5.
Hope you made use of the pause button.
I think you're the first person who found the boss frustrating. It takes 100 shots to feed him, and if you're quick on the draw, you should be able to feed everyone coming from the other direction, then hose the boss with enough veggies to feed anyone else in the way and still fill him up some.
Thanks for the full points even though you had some complaints. :) That's very big of you.

it was good
it was good but some ban invaderzimja its not about the porn or the swearing its about good graphics good storys fun games this had good graphics and it was a a fun game so you can shut up
Heh. Thanks for the backup. :) I kinda think he just wasn't aware of the contest, though.
I will be the first to admit, Newgrounds is about 180 degrees from Wiggi World. They are completely opposite web experiences.
Frankly, I was expecting many more reviews like invaderzimja's. It's amazing to me that people have accepted this game as well as they have. I like to think I managed to make the gameplay fun enough that it at least partly makes up for the theme.
The other thing is, invaderzimja might have just played stage 1, and assumed that was all there was to the game. Let me be perfectly clear... stage 1 sucks. It kinda has to. It was made for 5 year olds to play!

Yes, but enough about invaderzimja, how did you like the game?

I enjoyed it!
I was afraid after level 7, it would just be the same thing for ever, but when I saw that big red homestar head looking thing, I laughed. good game, good luck in the contest.
Hehehe. :) Plan A was for it to just be the same thing from start to infinity, occasionally adding a new type of hungry wiggi to the mix. I think I like it better this way.
Thanks for the good luck, and I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Good one for the kids.
This game is a good mix on the ol' defend your castle type games, but more for younger children. A good game overall, perhaps some upgrades though as you increase in level or points. Good game though.
I had some ideas for upgrades and more complex gameplay, but I only had 10 days to work within. I gave priority to multiple enemy types, then to the cartoon sequences. It became clear I wouldn't have time to implement any power-ups, so I just did the best I could to polish and refine the simple button-mashing gameplay as much as possible.
I like to think I made the right choices. Your review and a lot of others like it suggest that, while everyone wanted a little something more, be it powerups or more challenge or a more diverse set of stages... almost no one really hated the game or gave up in frustration.
That suggests to me that, despite the contest and the restrictions imposed by it, there's an underlying game here that's just plain fun. Which makes sense, given that this is the Defend Your Noun genre, boiled down to its simplest form.
