The Swords & Sandals world just got a whole lot bigger with the all-new Swords & Sandals: Crusader! Step out of the gladiator arena and onto the field as you lead hundreds of troops into battle against the toughest lords in the realm.

Swords & Sandals Crusader is an epic mix of fast paced arcade combat and RPG strategy. Lay siege to castles in the pouring rain, fight a giant Cyclopes in dank swampland or send your cavalry against a horde of skeletons in the heat of the scorching desert.

Featuring particle weather and spell effects and a variety of army and game types,
Swords & Sandals Crusader takes off where Swords & Sandals 2 ended, as the battle against the undead Emperor Antares intensifies. The fate of Brandor is up for grabs, put on your sandals and stake your claim as the finest crusader in the realm.

** NOTE that this is not in fact Swords & Sandals III - which is an entirely different game which will be posted on NG real soon. **

Please bear in mind that this is just the **DEMO** version of the game, some of the features are locked, for those familiar with the series, thats just how we do it and we hope the demo can provide you with plenty of free entertainment as is. For those who really get stuck in the game, the full version is available for download and features a stack more stuff. Cheers, Oliver

Fun game but can't buy your full version

If you are going to put a demo on newgrounds it would be great if you would make a full version for macs. I liked the demo but I don't have any use for the full version since you don't offer an OSX version. Plus it would be wise considering the recent market for Apple computers.

Unresponsive buttons in places

I quite liked this game, as it presents quite a few challenging options here. I'm not a fan of having it out as only a demo on NG, but I suppose that's only put in place so that you can get people to visit your site and give you advertising hits, isn't it?

The gameplay is nice, although I would have preferred if you could pick sides to start with and maybe your king's name as well.

It could have done with a few tutorials, explainging the finer points of tactics, such as leaving a garrison in a province and who you are fighting against. I wasn't too happy with the luck element of the fourth mission, where you had to find the artifact before 20 turns had expired, either, but there's not much else I can do about it.

A good game, with some great addictive qualities. I can't guarantee that I won't be playing it again in the near future.

Good, but somewhat aggravating

Really comprehensive, really cool, butI had a few key issues that stopped me from really enjoying the game.
-One, it's a demo, that in itself is annoying because you are so limited. I know you want people to buy the ggame, but honestly, whose going to pay for it?
-Second, i would spend lots of money to buy a large army, and in the next mission I would only have the "Standard" number of troops. eg, 30 light infantry, when I'd gotten it up to 50 the previous mission.
-third, it could get really slow, and I had to click the "buy" button a million times.

well that's it, if those issues could be addressed, the game would be perfect.

Brilliant! had to start again 3 times though

very good graphics and excellent gameplay, only real problem i noticed was that it can freeze on occasion, happened twice to me; once during combat where my troops moved to attack nd the enemy didn't and again on the map screen when it moved to my opponents turn from mine. Could be cos im using firefox.
