The Swords & Sandals world just got a whole lot bigger with the all-new Swords & Sandals: Crusader! Step out of the gladiator arena and onto the field as you lead hundreds of troops into battle against the toughest lords in the realm.

Swords & Sandals Crusader is an epic mix of fast paced arcade combat and RPG strategy. Lay siege to castles in the pouring rain, fight a giant Cyclopes in dank swampland or send your cavalry against a horde of skeletons in the heat of the scorching desert.

Featuring particle weather and spell effects and a variety of army and game types,
Swords & Sandals Crusader takes off where Swords & Sandals 2 ended, as the battle against the undead Emperor Antares intensifies. The fate of Brandor is up for grabs, put on your sandals and stake your claim as the finest crusader in the realm.

** NOTE that this is not in fact Swords & Sandals III - which is an entirely different game which will be posted on NG real soon. **

Please bear in mind that this is just the **DEMO** version of the game, some of the features are locked, for those familiar with the series, thats just how we do it and we hope the demo can provide you with plenty of free entertainment as is. For those who really get stuck in the game, the full version is available for download and features a stack more stuff. Cheers, Oliver

Reminds me of Heroes of Might and Magic...

Well... The fights really remind me of that game. Morale, troops, spells... But about troops fleeing, that's kind of too stupid... There's only one more ennemy remaining, so much of my troops flee! And also... The fight is finished, one of my troop flee... o_O. The game is also laggy, but until further delay, I'm going to blame it on my computer that is very lagging. Other than that, a nice a funny game, even our troops talk sometimes... "After this battle, who for a beer?". That isn't the exact line, but it was something like that. Too bad they lost xD

Overall great game, with a few quirks.

Overall this game is great. The scenery is well done; the showing changing of the seasons was a nice touch. The characters, while similiar to other characters of other things, are pretty original in how they are used. So overall graphics, character, etc was done very well. And i also loved the leader ability engine; which i don't usually see in strategy war games.
It does have a few quirks. It was a bit easy, though that may be due to it being the intro part of the full game (which i will buy if the home site every gets around to letting me use the buy page). There were a few bugs in the campaign mode though, at least i ran into a few. It would freeze up during a battle occasionally, and sometimes the home teams warriors wouldn't do anything; they'd go out to fight but would just stand there and usually get slaughtered. I lost a number of powerful soldiers and Saldophin more than once to that. And everytime i attacked the ape nation in a certian part of the continent (can't remember the name, second to last bottom left region) nothing i did would ever kill the oppostie army. Or if any did die it would be few and i would be getting slaughtered (ex.three bow maques would kill 20 of the opposing army in one shot. Or a few rhesus warriors would almost wipe out 40 light soldiers.) I wouldn't have a problem if there wasn't an army in the region when i attacked or if i was being attacked, it was only if there was an ape army already occupieing and i attacked. So just some bugs you might want to investigate.
Still a great game that rivals some big name strategy war games on the market. Keep it up!
