"Great! But a bit dark"
date: June 24, 2007
If this took 17 hours to render, I'm assuming you applied either final gather, global illumination or a mix of both; which, while making it look good, are a bit useless if the scene is too dark.
The modelling/texturing is pretty good, and the animation is very smooth, but a few omni lights (not sure what the maya term for them is) scattered around, or perhaps a general raise in ambient light, would help loads.

Oh yeah, I used Ray Tracing to get the active shadows and reflections. Also theres alot of bump mapping. As for the light, it looked brighter on the macs at my school, but when I got the file on my pc I was like,,.. CRAP! Oh well, next time I think Ima save my self some trouble and make a daytime scene.
