The Best In The Series...

Well, Proxicide, you have surely outdone yourself this time. You set a gold standard with MKVSF, then surpassed it enormously with MKVSFII, and now, completed this beautiful 2D trilogy of the emotional battles of famous fighting game characters.

First off, the choreography of the fight scenes is absolutely incredible and nothing short of spectacular. Shin Akuma absolutely ripped into Chameleon, as did Chameleon do the same. The Super Arts tricks you assembled for each character was well-thought out and delivered ultimate damage, especially Shin Akumas Super Arts library. With the characters you select each time, they all have very different attributes so each flash installment comes packed with the characters fighting in very different styles and moves than what was seen previously.

Also, an AIR FIGHT SCENE?! I give you mad props to the choreography in that scene as well as the whole spiral spikes bit when they hit the bottom of the pit. You do a great job balancing the fight sequences and all the way through I really never knew who was going to come out on top. It was almost painfully emotional to watch Chameleon just absolutely rip into Shin Akuma at the end of the fight.

Secondly, the music... especially the fight scene music was well-chosen. The track has an ambient, emotional feel to it, so you really start to feel attachments to the character that just happens to be getting POUNDED on at that moment.

Thirdly, the graphics all together are incredibly nice. The startup menu is very pleasing to look at, as well as the backgrounds nicely detailed. The chi-ball (fireballs, balls of chi, etc.) are done well and look painful. The Super Arts and all around hit damage graphics look nice.

Now, for the negatives: I know alot of people complained about the historical accuracy of Akuma, I slightly agree with them. It was nice that he showed mucho emotion, however, he showed TOO much emotion. So much emotion in fact, it was almost borderline girly (even though in the context of what happened with Ryu in the end, I could see why you gave him that much emotion.)

Secondly, I also didn't like the fact you jerked the audience around in the beginning for so long. Prepping for the fight with the dialogue between Akuma and Ryu was necessary, however, you could've cut like 10 seconds out of that, and at least 10 out of the build-up dialogue/camera switches between Akuma and Chameleon and still have a proper fight build-up that doesn't feel rushed.

Even though my negatives are pretty long and a bit biased, they are essentially minor as opposed to the huge obstacle you overcame to achieve the pure awesomeness of this flick.

All in all an incredible showcase of emotion, raw knuckleburn power and a great story. Thumbs up!
