I'm a Christian and a Buddhist, I don't like war or religious descrimination and more importantly I don't believe much of anything what the US government says (due to far too many lies the US government made in past and present century about many things but anyway heres what I think) about Muslims, and I am here to say some things that are real about Muslims: first of all the word "Muslim" means in the Arab language "one who submits to god", the word is also the infinitive form of the word "Islam" which is a homograph, having multiple meanings, and a triliteral of the word salam, which directly means peace. Second you might say "if the Muslim ways where supposed to be peaceful in their beliefs then why do they violate the human rights of their own people in such barbaric manor?", well its not the religion thats terribly wrong but on the contrary its by the parents of the Muslims that educate them, I mean what kind of religion would really have bad habits to humanity, none would do that if its followers knew it wouldn't be the right thing. In the past it was natural for the Arabs and other tribes to be barbaric, even before the Islamic religion formed, and sadly it past on within generations because of the thought of personal "power over the other" within many people (witch is why many Arabs preform massive slave trade within Africa during the past centuries), so you can't blame the Islamic religion about cruel things its followers do, but you can't blame the Arabs for committing many crimes against the human rights if we violate human rights too (think about what kind of terrible stuff we did and do for a moment). And third: Why do Muslims perform acts of terrorism? Well there are many bad people in this world, not only Muslims, but the reason why are many Muslims terrorists is completely unknown, even to highly top secret standards, but why many terrorists in this world are said to be Muslims? The truth is that many terrorists are mostly of the Islamic religion detail is false, that detail is used as a way to create fear within people and then have more power over them, but at the same time creates racism against Muslims and then many bad things happen after that. Example: some months ago a German father gave threats to a mother from Egypt (who is a Muslim) to stay away from public parks, and even throwing stones to her, and then when they where in court, he killed the woman, witch then caused an impact to the Germany-Egypt relations, the German government says it was only a common murder but Egypt said it was a racist act against Muslims (this something that really did happen!)...
So in a way, I'm with what the Atheist said...
I hope my message gave a better understanding about Muslims.
