Project for my Digital Tools class. The assignment was to illustrate one of Newton's Laws of Motion. Mine was the law that with every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Just a short :)

The song is "Syeeda's Song Flute" by John Coltrane on his album, "Giant Steps."

Yes, it's all vectors, to those of you asking.

"Something original"

Nice concept, graphics and overall flash! Although I really think it should have been a bit longer. Nice details!

looks like your animation is developing nicely. In the context of what you wanted this flash to be, I have two critiques: firstly, when the can bounced off the wall and fell onto the lever, the animation moved too slowly, so it lacked realism--as if it were taking place in low gravity, which clashed with the jumping motions from earlier. Secondly, you took the cutting rapidly back and forth between the glass on the diving board and the flying can a little bit too far lol. Other than that, it was a very different flash from what I've seen before. Definitely something new to the portal, good job.

Author's Response:

Hey Matt, didn't even know you still browsed NG. Course, that's what college does to us :)

Yeah, the bounceback was my biggest worry. I had a lot of trouble tweaking it while animating and trying to get it to look realistic, but in a short time frame that's as far as I got (lol it was even worse with my original draft).

And with the cutting back and forth, I didn't do it nearly as much until my teacher told me it needed to be more obvious, so I overdid it.

Thx Matt :)
