This is another experiment I made to enhance interactivity in some games. I like to only use the mouse as the only means of interaction, as it poses a challenge for the user and creator.
Everything you need to know is in the game's intro screen. EXCEPT: >>>If you consistently, without dying, keep on getting the same powerup in a row, your weapon will become stronger!

Known issue: VERY FEW Firefox users will have sound delays (try updating)

Fun, bad collision accuracy.

I found it quite amusing. I could play it for quite some time. I disliked how the enemy cursors kill you even when you don't hit them.

Collision detection is horrible.

The idea and the game play were pretty cool. My main problem is I was dying all the time for almost no reason. I felt like half of the times I died I was no where near an enemy, and not just making excuses, I was really paying attention. There seems to be an area around the cursor that gets hit and not the cursor itself. Perception? Probably.

Not sure what half the power ups were good for, but I'm sure I didn't use them effectively. The main gun only goes one way but you have guys coming in from behind you. The blast (bomb?) thing has such a limited range that you have to wait till someone gets close, then you only hit a couple and the rest hit you before you recharge.

It takes some getting used to, but it's not a bad game. It could just be so much better.

Good work.

I was also worried about hit detection, but it's a perception most people have of their cursor. The hit goes all the way to the tail of the arrow, so that is an important thing to consider. Also, bosses shoot out baddies that gradually get more visible, so if you're standing too close to a boss (especially the first one), you might think the hittests are off, but I do agree the perception is not a very good one; something I'll improve in a definitive sequel.

Thanks for the in-depth review, it is very much appreciated :)

food for thought...

The game is very interesting.
I think you'r idea rocks but, in my taste, the game is a bit too hard.
the power-ups should be more effective, and the game needs to be a bit (but only a bit) slower.

I have a thing where not all powerups are actually good. The pencil is very good in late levels where you get swarms coming at you, and the trail powerup is obviously made to hinder players.

I already have some new ideas for the new powerups, just stay tuned :) Thanks for the review!
