"The end of a cult favorite on a bit of a sour note"
date: October 20, 2009
Seeing as I'm an old fan, I might as well review the season from each season finale don't 'cha think?
As I followed this season on the first run, I was happy to see this season, it was worked well, you got a big name VA to do a voice, something you tend to do later on, and the production was better.
But looking back, this season if I read right was one that wasn't based on the RP, but mix of something from Megaman.EXE (Again, I didn't watch/play) and a continuation of the story purely for the fan's benefit. Last review I stated that season two tied up the loose ends, but this season continued the loose end that was opened up from the end of season 2.
This season was entertaining in the point that the characters actually grew a bit, but they take everything seriously... Gamecrazed and Zetto were the stars of this season, while Alpha/UC became more or less the guy that chose to put everything on his shoulders. While this was character development, it wasn't exactly good.
The ending? That was the epic point. It left the watcher both satisfied and wanting more.
It's a shame this series isn't going anywhere anymore, but what am I to know? From what I've read the series is hated by its creator, and everything attached to it by fanwork is doomed to be burned in flames. Understandable if that's the case, since I hate my old poems and artwork. But nevertheless the series has become a cult favorite. But Kirb, if you really don't like it, I would recommend you try to not only get the series taken off Newgrounds, but remove every inch of it off the internet if you want to get rid of whiny fanboys too stupid enough to know better and ask for a another season. (And even then, cult favorites don't die that easily.)
