"not bad one"

that was an alright game. it was really easy and not all that challenging and it could've used some audio, but it was an alright time killer and your efforts were nice. i would suggest adding some SFX or music to it though.

"Nice idea!"

date: March 19, 2007

This game was very novel, and I loved it! I've played games like this on paper (in one of those books you buy at the airport), but being able to change all the letters around quickly without erasing makes it much less frustrating. However, it is very hard to get started. I think the ones I played before always gave you one or two letters to help get you moving.

The only other thing I didn't like was the "you win" message. It was so faint it was impossible to see! I agree it shouldn't obstruct the puzzle so the winner can read what it says, so maybe it should simply appear at the bottom so it can be opaque and not in the way.

I think I will be playing this a lot. I'm so sick of all those crappy Tetris and Snake clones that people make from tutorials; this is a great revival of an old idea that hasn't been done before!

"Interesting!"

Good interface and very simple!

Actually I would have prefurred a hint. Many of them are very difficult and a short vauge hint (like one letter givin free) would work well.

"Well done"

date: March 19, 2007

I love the simplicity of the interface, and the quotes you picked are just challenging enough (not to many contractions or single letter words to make it easy). One thing though, in one the problems I tried, the letter R was the same letter in the answer as well. You should fix stuff like that. Great work overall.

"I Love Cryptoquotes!"

date: March 19, 2007

I agree that you need to expand this idea, it was great fun to play. Maybe begin by improving the interface. You've got a lot of potential. Movie quotes is a good place to start, perhaps you could use famous quotes too, get as many variations as possible. I really liked it -- hope you keep evolving the game!
